    Our two-van convoy to France starts!



    And we are off! Our 3 months tour of France, which will also include some other countries too, is off and straight away Mandy wins the cost challenge as her little van was ยฃ35 cheaper on the EuroTunnel but strangely we both got stopped at he border checks as they didn’t believe our campervans had no gas on board.

    Once we got that cleared up it was into France and time to enjoy life in the land of camping aires! They are perfectly located near towns and villages and usually with places to walk, and in this case a nice canal network to ride along.

    Whilst the route we took maybe wasn’t the best, but it really ended up being great fun and it was great to be back out on the bikes again.

      Oh shon ( almost silent n ). … … am just at almost 10m of your blogs and looking fwd to your epic adventure in the country where I live,…. dont know how to contact you but you are welcome in my village … not far from Chatellerault! Plus beaux village. Parking free but no electricity or water. Would be good to see you and glad you are on the road again and together… BRAVO!

      I went to that rocket production site many years ago, told the wife would be about 1hr, she stopped outside with the dogs and had a coffee, 3 1/2 hrs later, wasnโ€™t a happy bunny. But really interesting site

      Ah, region 59. I lived there for 2 or 3 years in Tourcoing. Lille is a nice city if you are going anywhere near it. I visited Dunkerque a fair few times during my stay in that region. I remember falling sleep on the beach and waking up rather sun burned!.

      I recognised that place immediately, as I went there over 20 years ago – sometime in the 90s. It's obviously had some added things to see, but I struggled with the damp atmosphere underground, although it was fascinating!

      Those bikes are on my must try list, as I'm not a real cyclist either!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Didn't learn till I was 14, so not very confident. I laughed when you said about wobbling when take one hand off – that's exactly what I do!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

      You could have mentioned that tens thousands of male slave labour were worked to death to build this place , in technical terms very interesting , in terms of Nazi inhumanity a truly awful place and should not be forgotten .

      That is definitely going on my saved list for somewhere to go when Iโ€™m back in the area and itโ€™s not too expensive! I wanted to go to the museum at Dunkirk when we went to Belgium at new year but it was closed so another visit to the area seems like the perfect solution ๐Ÿ‘

      Hi guys, Iโ€™ll be following as going over to France in September. Any chance you can give details of your first stop after the tunnel? Also What Three Words – I donโ€™t really use it as I use my sat nav – can it be translated into co ordinates? Have fun, looking forward to seeing what you find?

      Another super video. Great watching you guys having fun in France. Can you give me the details of your little cooker joby that you cooked your jacket potatoes in. My battery storage is larger than yours so should be able to make good use of that little cooker joby without using gas. ๐Ÿ‘. Kind Regards PaulandChrissy
