I’m taking a Japanese ferry from Niigata to Sado Island for lunch this time and trying Suite. The cabin is huge. The ship is operated by Sado Kisen.

  1. I have to assume that quarters like that are usually captain's quarters, because it is way, way too big and expensive to make any sense at all for a 2-3 hour trip. Why even have beds?

  2. Lovely. I would explore all the cabinets and drawers in the suite. If there are any amenities I would take them because I paid for them. Was there a store on the ferry? You didn't want to explore the area where the ferry was? Greetings from Canada.

  3. Honestly for 'only' 5 times the cost of second class that becomes definitely worth it if you're travelling with more than 1 or 2 people and far superior over 4 or 5 for the private space.

Ps: just got to the part about free cookies, cold drinks and tea. Bonus!

  4. 6:44 That was my guess. Maybe their keiretsu needed a place for a very secret board meeting and then gave the ship to the ferry company, which doesn't quite know what to do with it.

  5. Who gives a toss why he reserved the suite? You commenters act like he kicked a newborn kitten or something. Surely there are other things in the world much more deserving of outrage?? Smh.

  6. That suite was too big. Unless they plan to use this ferry for longer journeys. The view of the sun setting was beautiful. Curry looked good . thank you again.

  7. Honestly this suite while impressive was just too much. It felt almost eary having so much space. I think a cosy standard cabin is much nicer for a trip.

  8. Great video! The room was amazing – but the 'meeting room' part didn't seem to make much sense. They'd probably have been better off splitting it into two slightly smaller rooms.

  9. I find it interesting that the menu said “sold out” in English while the full menu was in Japanese. Is there no character for “sold out”? I am curious about that.

  10. Wow!! That suite was surely meant for a ferry for a longer stay/trip because there is no way 2.5 hours is enough to take full advantage of that room. It's an apartment!!! Those TV's turning on by themselves was spooky. Those cymbals (not drums) would have scared me silly. LOL That suite is waaay too much for one person. Maybe a family of 4 would be better. Or a group of business men for a meeting. That is one HUGE room ..
