  1. I went from Hua Lamphong to Surin in 2nd class sleeper last year. It was very comfortable and I would choose it again.
The track is narrow gauge and with the old fashioned stations, it's like a giant heritage railway.

  2. And I took Train #10 in 1st class to Bangkok just a week before you! The ride was very bumpy though and no other vloggers ever mentioned similar experience. I guess it had something to do with my room position!

  3. Another interesting and informative video Rory. You certainly get around mate. Thanks for uploading this. I'm looking forward to the Thai Airways A350 review.

  4. Awesome channel 💙 been watching since your Australian series and now you’re doing even better with these videos in Asia. Hope more people get to find out about your work because it’s remarkable!

  5. You have to try the 2nd class sleepers . I find them much more cosy and easier to sleep .
These new trains are awesome . The older trains much rougher but still enjoyable . Can’t wait for the new line to be open . We live in Hua Hin now and the new Hua Hin station although not yet completed is huge !!

  6. I'm shocked the train arrived only 3mins late, it's notorious for arriving much later. And your AC problem wasn't the train, it's that Thais love really cold AC

  7. Hi Rory thank you for the video on the train to Chiang Mai. It looked really comfortable but shame no food onboard available. I've been to Chiang Mai and loved it. Been enjoying your all your videos on your travels.

  8. Thanks for the update. 27 years ago I did the same journey. I went second class because I wanted to see the countryside in the daytime. No western toilet on board. The conditioning was cold! Transport from the train station in Chiang Mai into town was either elephant or samlor (tricycle pedal cab). I'm happy some things have changed for the better.

  9. Another great video thank you. We did this trip last October (2022) and like you, we found the new first class rooms to be fantastic. Keep safe and travel well. xx

  10. Due to Covid? And you went in Nov 2022? When the entire world has been open since January 2022. Sounds like a p-poor excuse to me.

  11. Nice to see you have a very enjoyable rail journey in Thailand and catch up the time on using the historical Rail Station in Bangkok. Chiang Mai is also famous for its heavy pollution recently, unfortunately. Looking forward to using the High Speed Rail, which is now still under construction, that will conncect with NE Thailand, Laos and all the way up to China. A very informative and research-detailed rail review 😊.

  12. Hi Rory 👋, I really enjoyed this video and I appreciate all the backbreaking travel that you do in order to introduce us to the world. Thanks again Rory, well done 👏
