The campaign, dubbed the “Year of Return,” became a catalyst for many descendants of Africans in the diaspora to embark on a spiritual journey.
At the time, it also marked 400 years since the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.
“The Year of Return” was also to celebrate the resilience of all the victims of the trans-Atlantic slave tradewho were forcefully displaced throughout the world, ending up in North America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

some trivia to know 1)Ghana of today was known to Europeans as Gold Coast 2) The Portuguese raided West Africa starting in the 1400s it started as raids strictly then buying people and arming coastal people to raid the interior 3) In 1619 or 1620 on some calenders those people came from Angola not Gold Coast

Ghana is in financial difficulties and needed a way to build up thier USA foreign reserve. Hence the year of return.

Why dont you talk of "Black Americans" in Kenya, where you are from, but always Ghana? Why dont you mention African diasporans in Ghana since there are more black people from the Central America and the Caribbean, Canada, Europe, South America, etc that visit/moved to Ghana (if Ghana is still your setting/plot)
