Japan’s New MASSIVE Covid Wave Is GREAT For Tourism! Here’s Why
As of last week, Japan has reported 1,046,418 NEW Covid Cases in the past week! Major places like Tokyo, Hokkaido, and other major prefectures are all experiencing record highs for new daily covid cases. While I wish all those individuals getting infected with a horrible disease never happened, there is a silver lining to it. Despite all these people getting infected, the government has not taken any steps backward to close the border, or restrict tourists or residents from freely traveling for the holidays. This is a great sign! If you want to find out exactly why, then check out the video!

I am travelling to Japan on January 10 !!
This is reassuring as I have my flights booked for the end of February!
ive watched a lot of your videos and theyre very good! i want to try to go to japan in the spring but im still a little confused on the procedure to get out there? i have my passport and am x3 vaccinated, but aside from the traveljapan website, are all the phone apps still mandatory? i plan on following your guide of doing as much as i can online as far as getting through customs etc. thanks!
Hi Harb and Matilda, I never saw this coming imagine telling someone a year ago this would happen, they'd laugh at you but here we are , strange but good , I suppose.. well some may not support this encouragement to travel but I suppose they can stay home right ๐ anyway some people will never let go of their mask either I see it here
Thanks!
Nice. However, I just hope the hospitals are able to keep up with the severe cases.
Him: Knock on wood for me please.
Me:
literally seconds later, no hesitation knocks on wood.Very informative ๐๐ป๐ฆ
Herd immunity is the only way ๐
Covid will be more transmittable BUT less deadly as is the nature of viruses
I fly to Japan on xmas day……..fingers are crossed!!!!!!
Going to Japan this coming April. Hopefully, nothing changes…..

How has it been with face masks?
Is it frowned upon to not wear them and will restaurants turn you away if you donโt walk in with them on?
That domestic tourism campaign in Japan has given me hell in booking hugely popular Ryokans in the Tohoku Region where foreign tourists don't usually go. It so happened my next trip coincides with spring break. One popular Hoshino resort in Aomori was blocked out from March 26 to April 13 which coincides exactly with spring break.. And I can't even find a single room in all of the Ryokans in Ginzan Onsen on those dates. Good thing somebody cancelled in the other Hoshino Resort property in Aomori so I got the last remaining room with a private semi open bath that just opened up. Since foreign tourists don't usually go there, I am actually competing with local domestic Japanese tourists whose domestic trips are being subsidized by the government's domestic travel campaign for Japanese residents…as they usually stay in Ryokans for their vacation.
Your jolteon is amazing!! Anyway been japan last month, thank you for your video tipss!! ๐คญ
Thank you for the news. Could you talk about sim cards and pocket wifi for japan in a next video ? I'm coming to japan in April and i'm a bit stressed about that haha๐

fingers crossed nothing gets close, i fly over from austraila next saturday
Iโm heading to Japan tomorrow and Iโm crushed that the Shibuya countdown is cancelled. Considering that, is there anywhere else to celebrate/watch fireworks?
I think the main reason is officials are starting to realize there are negatives to having everyone isolated regarding immune response.
This is why I love Japan. Their policies, political leaning, and population behavior defy anything familiar to the West. The patterns are just completely out there lmao gotta love this country
Not even in some China cities are they wearing masks. It's pretty normal there, so no surprise Japan is the same.
Japan better not close before my January trip!!
Greetings from korea ๐ฐ๐ท ๐ โค๏ธ
Here to give you all the information
on Kpop and korean thots lol ๐
I really hope they ease up on the border stuff and the masks disappear in 2023. Iโm learning Japanese right now and really want to do a work exchange in the near future , but have it feel normal there ๐ข
Will I have any problems entering Japan as a US citizen at age 17 being an unaccompanied minor? I am meeting a friend and his family who live in Tokyo.
Hi just wanted to ask something. My bf is arriving in Tokyo today at 3:30pm he's not vaccinated and he's going in Manila. And a guy told him that he's QR code needs to be green but he's not vaccinated. Does he need to be vaccinated in Tokyo so they will let him in Manila? I appreciate it if you response.
Good morning.
Thank you for the wonderful video.
As a Japanese, I am happy.
Have a good year!
before come to Japan please check data again & consider about your safety again…
recently bed of hospitals are ued over 50% …… from October COVID case numbers is increasing ! ….JHU data is true…
Fast track no more visit japan Web?
Hi Harblife thanks for your videos!
I was in japan from 1-18th december and thanks to your recommendations i went to shimo kitazawa and shibuya parco – pokemon centre and nintendo centre. I really enjoyed walking around shimo kitazawa. though it was pretty croweded it had nowhere the crowds of harajuku.
my family bought some 2nd hand clothes from 2nd street.
i missed japan so much i will be going again during the spring break in 2023.
Help!! Do I really need the Covid shot to enter Japan?
I used that travel bonus to go to Okinawa! It was great! ๐
I don't know if you will see this or maybe someone who has visited Japan recently like within the last two months can please tell me. But are there still restrictions for tourists to travel with tour groups around Japan still or are you able to travel around Japan freely without needing to do this?
Iโm planning a late March, early April trip and hope they ease on the entry requirements for the unvaccinated with the studies coming out about us not being more likely to spread the virus compared to those who are vaxxed.
If masks aren't required is it ok to remove them for selfies? Thanks for the video
@harblife help me please lol. So I am booked to travel in May/June …. however, I only have 2 doses of the vaccine and do not plan on getting the booster. I am traveling from Canada… I just need to show a negative pcr test result (valid Japan certificate) and i need to upload it onto the visit japan app … right? Since I have to take the test 72 hrs before I fly I might only be able to upload it 48 hrs before my flight… will this delay the process of getting the QR code… also is it straight forward entry into japan.. once the documents are uploaded? Should I bring hard copy of the documents as well? and finally will I have to do a PCR test once I land.. I keep hearing mixed things about this. Thanks for your help ๐
Proof that masks don't work. Most people wear them.
