So, If you want to drink alcohol on a P&O cruise with their drinks package (you can buy individual drinks at the bar price which are like UK pub prices) then somehow "you" have to consume 15 drinks in 24 hours (hic) with a 15 min wait between each order. This means that if the time it took you to consume a drink was say 15 mins then you could drink alcohol continuously for 7.5 hours, paying £39.95 per day. If you are an alcoholic then you may think this is a good deal. But if there are two of you in the same cabin then you will have to buy two of the same drinks packages even if one of you doesn't drink alcohol – you can't share a drinks package. If there are 4 adults in a cabin and only one wants to get plastered then all 4 will have to buy the same drinks package, net cost for a 14 day cruise is therefore £2,237 – you will need deep pockets and hollow legs. But note that none of you are likely to remember anything of the cruise. The package does not include most cocktails but you do get a 20% discount on each cocktail. Note: there is free tea and coffee making in your cabin and both are free, including water, in the buffet. You can bring one bottle of wine onboard when you embark on the cruise. Filtered water stations are found around the ship for refilling your own bottles and the cabin tap water is drinkable, you will not die of thirst.
The question on everyone's lips, "Hot Chocolate?"
So if you buy it before hand it is cheaper than buying it on board by £5 per day. Good one P&O reduces peoples OBC…crafty move.
It looks to me you pay more for less
So what happens if you´ve already ordered and paid for the Kids drinks package for a cruise in June, as the hot chocolate which was included isn´t included in the Refresh package?
So water isn't included in the Refreah package, terrible
So where does the unlimited drinks package fall under as iv pre Purchased 1 year in advance
They are awful value for money, it's the one thing I hate about P&O. Even a fairly hardened drinker will be better off going pay as you go.
Its not for everyone thats for sure, i always get the PO drinks package as the drinks i like are on the list, even if you only have 6 cocktails each a day thats just over 80 quid, then thats without coffee, water so for us we are saving.
The most drinks we have had in a day was 12 each, not all alcoholic😂 so the savings were alot, just need to way if up, oh and its peace of mind, dont have to check you cruise balance every 5 minutes to see how much you have spent.
Im actually going on PO Acadia in 4 weeks and haven't got the drinks package yet but i will, i might list day by day what we consume and get back on here with totally savings.
What i would say if you only drink whats on yhe ultimate list then its worth it, if you dont drink that much or like drinks not on the list then pay as you go would be better.
