Windpomp 14 offers electrified camping as well as host of new facilities, including hot showers, flush toilets and a pub and grill restaurant. Previously known as Mile 14, the camp was closed for nine years, before re-opening as much upgraded Windpomp 14 Camp in December 2015.
Accommodation at Windpomp 14 Camp
The camping sites are positioned in 5 rows, with the front row or “beachfront” campsites being the most sought after.
All campsites are serviced with a 220v power outlet. The ablution facilities comprise of 10 hot showers with two flush toilets in each shower block, and 12 separate flush toilets.
All campsites include a braai/BBQ open fire pit (bring your own braai grill for cooking), rubbish bin and 220v plug for charging plus special caravan adaptor.
There is no running water at the campsites, however water (at an additional cost) is available from the reception or restaurant.
Things to do at Windpomp 14 Camp
Windpomp 14: while primarily a fisherman’s camp, Windpomp 14 is a comfortable place for the entire family to relax. The Fishermans’s Pub and Grill is very popular serving drinks and light meals and there is a kiosk with sweet treats and a few necessities plus a small selection of curios.
Campers drawn to the Skeleton Coast will be pleased to find Windpomp 14 Camp (Windmill 14), the only full self-catering camping site located right on the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Windpomp 14 boasts twenty-one campsites, each with private ablutions and kitchenette, as well as 220V electricity and built-in braai/barbeque. There is also the famous Windpomp 14 restaurant and bar for guests looking for top-class seafood dishes and more.
Accommodation at Windpomp 14 consists of 48 campsites.
