I firmly believe that one can travel as a minimalist, Cheap Charlie style and have a great time. For those of us who love to travel, the joy of it is the new experiences, exploring new places, meeting new people, experiencing difference cultures. To do these things a lot of money is not required, in fact by spending a lot there is the real possibility that money can get in the way of these things. I keep my backpacking ultralight, bringing as few things as possible so I can also explore and move around as much as possible. I do a lot of walking on my travels.

  3. I would not give you three Cambs for one Thailand, that city looks kike Pattaya was in the 40-ties and 50-ties, ugly as sin, third world scenario side of the game 555

  4. Early this year, I did a border run from Bangkok and stayed in Koh Kong for one night. Koh Kong had a new 7/11 near the city center that was built maybe within the last year. Items in the store were priced in both riel and dollars. The birds that you heard while there, I heard those too and it seemed to be recordings of a predatory bird played on loudspeakers to keep other birds away.

  5. You should have loaded up on Thai baht , I wouldn't give them US dollars , seeing you are a Western farang they are aching to over charge you .
