Despite being told by many travellers that I could skip Ankara as it didn’t really have a great deal to offer, I had enjoyed my stay so far. The old town was historic and picturesque and I had also enjoyed a great night out in the city’s rock bars.

On my second full day, it was time for some culture. First up was the Ataturk Mausoleum which was as majestic as you might imagine.

I then headed to an art museum which exceeded my expectations. There was a truly harrowing exhibition and an outdoor market with live music.

Finally, I visited one of the city’s parks where I discovered a theme park. Would I finally get to go on a ghost train on my travels?

Join me as I further explore this underrated city!

  1. Hello from Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Your video made me very happy. This is a huge metropolis. This place has the most advanced educational and social facilities in Turkey. It is also the most organized city in Turkey. Turkey's 2nd largest industrial zone is here (1st in Kocaeli Gebze). Although the city is not green in terms of climate, there are trees, green and big parks everywhere in terms of construction (Even Europe's largest city park is here. The biggest amusement park is here, but unfortunately it is closed. dysfunctional) According to the United Nations index, it is the city with the highest quality of life in Turkey. There are many historical sites from the Romans and Hittites here. Also, the historical places of the modern republic of turkey are here. Although it is not the best place in our country in terms of history, it is definitely an underrated city. I'm glad you visited.
