November 2019 | When we first landed in Beirut and experienced the Revolution first hand, I think what surprised us most was talking to the younger generations. Many of the stories that had been passed on to them were ones based on fear.
But leading with fear means that you often act out of desperation, and desperation leads you to resentment, not just of oneself but also towards one’s own country. And if you harbor those feelings of resentment for too long people eventually become cynical and lose hope.
BUT that’s not what we saw here on the ground. Walking around, hearing stories, asking questions, engaging with the people – only showed us more of their resilience and optimism. 🙏🏽
And most importantly, we saw the forging of Lebanon’s new identity. The Lebanese love their country and are willing to fight for it (without violence)! Until next time Lebanon, and thank you again for welcoming us with such open arms. 🇱🇧

Hey! We’re Olivia & Nathan, a couple from California, on a mission to travel to 100 countries!
In 2016, with enough money to last us 6 months, we took a chance and booked 2 one-way tickets across the world. We planned on living in Australia for 1 year – but that turned into 3. And then “touring Europe” after turned into “let’s see 100 countries!”
We had a dream of traveling the world full-time so we developed skills to work online (& saved a lot while working) to be able to live the life we do now.
In 2019 we created this YouTube channel to share what we learn along the way. And help other people (especially our fellow Americans) travel more often! 🙂
Nathan has lived more than half of his life abroad (France, Italy, Cambodia, Germany.) And Olivia, before living in Australia, traveled to far, far away lands like DisneyLand and Hawaii.
Whether you’re new to travel or are an experienced OG, travel is the best education and we hope to share that with you guys. ❤️
