Hanoi has always been one of my favorite cities in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. With all it’s issues it is still charming, exciting, full of interesting sites, amazing food, and wonderfully friendly people. In Hanoi Vlog 2023 I revisit many sites that are on everyone’s must-see list. Walking around the social epicenter of the city Hoan Kiem Lake. Taking in the walking streets on the weekend-morning, noon, and night. Visiting Ba Dinh Square and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and the Temple of Literature. Plus see 2 of Vietnam’s very best vegetarian/vegan restaurants.
Thanks again for watching! I absolutely love sharing these stories with you!

Hello John, glad you are back with another interesting video from Vietnam. I was in Hanoi in mid January this year and visited all the places you have focused in this video, after a 9 year absence including a second time of seeing Uncle Ho. Prior to my arrival I understood that Train Street was closed with safety in mind that I dropped the idea of getting there. I am now toying with the idea of going back end of January come 2024. God bless & please stay safe!
Hi John. Hanoi is a beautiful city. We'll be in VN this coming December. Happy travels from Minnesota!
John is back, another great video. One of my favorite narrator on travel videos.
Your style of reading is the same with Anthony Bourdain, so warm and inspirational
Happy when you are back John. Thank you for your love my City of Hanoi! Be happy & enjoys all the time🤓
11:27 wow what a beautiful view!
It's been almost 10 months since my family were in VN. We are amazed by how peaceful VN is in general. We love these "tourist" spots such as Hoan Kiem Lake but unlike many other "tourist" places in the world, VN's hot spots have a lot of locals, families, old and young people, sharing the same space with foreign tourists. We like that feeling like we're just part of the community instead of being part of a tourist spot.
The crunchy bite replay was amazing f/x!😊
Great episode John! I'm checking out flights for sometime this summer to visit my friend Ben and of course I want to visit Hanoi. This episode was very interesting and informative about important things (not coffee!) and I found it useful as well as entertaining.
Have you been doing more TV work? Take care man!
I am visiting Hanoi in 2 weeks time. Thank you so much for the guide.

You are back in Vietnam at last! And as usual, your content is interesting and useful.
I am meetings with friends today to talk about our upcoming trip to Vietnam this September. I told everyone to subscribe to your channel for ideas on where to go. Thank you for your excellent videos John.
cheers John, you truly are the greatest presenter when it comes to vlogging in Vietnam in my opinion,
We’re thinking of going to Hanoi Feb 2024 after tet. Only been to Saigon 9 yrs ago. We loved it. I came to USA when I was 6 as part of the boat people. Now I’m 50. Looking forward to spending more time there now that our child is off to college. It’s on my bucket list to learn to read, write Vietnamese and improve my Vietnamese language skills beyond its current 3 yr old level.
I Always enjoy your videos. You’re such an eloquent speaker.
Gday John 👋 – great to see another video from you in Hanoi – enjoyed it – all the best 😃👌👍🙏
Thanks John. Hanoi is definitely at the top of my list upon my return.
