Of course someone (me this time!) pips in to say Index Mall at Hua Hin sell sheet sets with flat sheets. Nice quality too! I try to eat as much beef as possible when I go home to visit family in Australia. Those burgers looked super delicious ๐
A pet Peeve of mine: I recall from previous research that Over 50% of the people who drown in Hawaii are middle age and older males. I recall snorkeling at Hanhauma Bay when I was a young man and not having any trouble, went back in my 50's and had to call for a life guard mostly it seemed that I was having an anxiety attack but was definitely struggling to tread water. (I should have been wearing a life vest but I didn't need one back in the 80's) We lose our endurance as we age even if we don't like to admit it. I also had a similar experience at the Galapagos Islands on an off shore snorkeling trip. This caused me to do research and it was shocking to see all of the middle age men who drown in Hawaii. As a matter of fact I just saw a news article of it just happening this week to a man who was in Hawaii on his honeymoon. All older men should be careful in the water, it is a real danger. From 2012 to 2016 out of 315 drownings 189 were people between 45 and 74 years old. Another stat I found 53% of people who drowned in the ocean in Hawaii were 40-49 y/o 12%, 50-59 y/o 17%, 60-74 y/o 24%. Though we should be wiser as we get older it appears we make unsafe decisions when it comes to water safety.
I share this only to hopefully prevent one person from unnecessary drowning.
I was in hawaii in 1995. It was expensive! Bought cereal to have breakfast in my room , small box of raisin bran was $5, everything is imported. Found besr value eating dinner at Perrys Smorgasbord
Not for me. Great vid tho. But spending $45 on tacos โto goโ and basically be told you have to get out in 7 minutes. No way Jose. The other extortionate prices also put me off ever wanting to go there. Iโd be so disappointed. Happy birthday Paige btw ๐
Hi Chuck and Paige thank you for the video really enjoying Hawaii.Beach looks great hope you get to have a swim. Hope you both have a great time. Enjoy.
Your video made my wife and I re-live our trip to Hawaii. It was fun. Recommend venturing outside the tourist center. I rented a car and had locals advise of scenic drives, famous eats, and dive bars. Suzie Wongs , 8 fat fat, breweries and distilleries. A lot of things are a stone's throw from tourist central.
Scan Lazada. They will get you and mama all you need. Heinz bbq , Mexican food , hard to find snacks and sheet covers. You can also zip into Laos. Some grocers get awesome foods and spirits from the USA and Europe by the container at great prices. One larger grocer specializes in items from Kirkland Canada. Let us know if you come to Laos.
Happy Birthday Paige! Chuck, $5 for a small cherry pie? It wasn't even a Hostess pie! It was off-brand! It's amazing that they can get away with that. Hawaii, nice place to visit, but I couldn't live there.๐
I am saddened that they still allow companies to put flushable on their wipes. While you can flush them, they do so much damage to the wastewater system (pump stations/pumps and valves). Never flush wipes. Other then that, keep whipping out the Amex Gold Card.
Target closed? 555!!! Love the video Chuck and Pookie. This is my first time seeing you in an English speaking country and for some reason it feels slightly the same (in a good way), I am enjoying watching the videos, it's like notime2besad in a different dimension. Nice to see the Thai bike, I love familiarities. I arrive in Nakhon Phanom in a month, I land in Bangkok in 3 weeks. I got you a few gifts from Ireland. I think you will like them.
Reason why you do not see obesity in hawaii is because it cost too much to eat. The snack foods, chips, donuts etc, five dollars and up. The cheeseburger in paradise $20.00 plus tip… ha
Welcome back to the USA. I thought prices were bad when I was there. But now it is crazy. Have fun. Happy Birthday Paige. Enjoying seeing Honolulu again.
Hawaii is expensive, but itโs a first-world paradise like nowhere else and worth every penny. Not everyone can afford to visit and even fewer can afford to live here like we do. Been all over the world, including Switzerland and Thailand, but we chose Hawaiโi over anywhere else for our home. Welcome to America.
Go to Kailua beach on the other side of the island, I lived 2 minutes from the beach, great little town. In Kailua there is a Whole foods, it has a great Bar, tell my Buddy Rick a bar tender Hello from Joe, the king of beach horse shoes, He will have a good laugh Enjoy
Another awesome video brother. After seeing what your lunch for 2 cost, I will no longer complain about the 300-400 baht burgers here in Thailand. Lol ๐. Very cool hat, Thank You. I canโt wait to wear it. Happy Birthday Paige ๐ wishing you many blessings on this special day, not only today but for many years to come โค.
Cheese burger in paradise, google the story of the two owners. Awesome story. First trip to Hawaii 40 years ago. Make sure you go to Rainbow Grill have a loco moco ( with spam!). Enjoy
Lived in Hawaiโi for 63 years then moved to Thailand. Locals in Hawaiโi know where to shop, Costco there typically have the same prices as their continental counterparts and eateries outside of Waikฤซkฤซ are much more affordable. I still go back every so often. The Hawaiian name of the flower you were looking at is โohai aliโi, I have seen it here in Thailand. I know you are probably back by now, I hope you had fun.

Last time I was there there was a cheap Japanese coffee shop on kuhio about 3 or 4 blocks off the beach that had a cheap breakfast
I believe I may have been to that Walmart it was a Walmart on the ground floor and sams club a floor above.
