In this episode I discuss the question that plagues every traveler – Is it safe?
From government warnings, to urban legends, to local information, how do you decide whether the place you want to go is safe? So many people worry about whether a place is safe they don’t realize that it may not be that different from their own home town.
I discuss the different types of information, how to know who to listen to, understanding when a so-called information source may be biased and I share some of my favorite tips on how to stay safe when you travel.
Spoiler Alert: Most of the world is a lot safer than you think it is.
Side Note: Watch this video on my second channel to see what happens when I walk through a very busy market in Northern Ghana. Watch how people respond to me and how I’m treated when I’m completely alone and looking more like a tourist than usual. This is normal in Ghana, by the way. https://youtu.be/wBkUF_72qnM
