We started our time in Albania by visiting Ksamil. Ksamil is a beautiful beach town in the southern part of Albanian Riviera. There was certainly not a shortage of things to do while in Ksamil. We made sure to visit the iconic Blue Eye. This is a lagoon about an hour away from Ksamil known for its deep blue beauty and its appearance of an eye. We also visited the Butrint Acheological site that is just a few miles away from Ksamil. This is an ancient city site used by Greeks, Romans and Christians throughout the years before being abandoned. On top of these wonderful nearby sites, Ksamil also has some of the best beaches in Albania. We made time to visit a few of these however unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate all to well for us!
