Bangkok is the capital and largest city of Thailand. It is located in the central part of the country, along the Chao Phraya River delta. With a population of over 8 million people within the city boundaries and more than 14 million in the metropolitan area, Bangkok is one of the most populous cities in Southeast Asia.

The city of Bangkok has a rich history that dates back to the 15th century when it was a small trading post during the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It later became the capital of Thailand (formerly known as Siam) in 1768 after the fall of Ayutthaya to the Burmese. Over the centuries, Bangkok has grown rapidly and developed into a vibrant and dynamic metropolis.
