We thought that the Pelion in Greece would be the perfect place for a family adventure… What a mistake! I mean… We actually had some adventures but not in the way we thought.
Let’s start with the beginning! After some time in the mountains, we headed to the Aegian Sea coast and decided to visit at least one Greek island. Skopelos it would be! Well guys, it felt so good to experience what we could call holidays! The island is known to be very green, in opposition to most of the others that are very rocky. We’ve been from cove to cove and adopted the Greek lifestyle!
Leaving Skopelos, we reached the Pelion peninsula. in Platanias and started our way heading North, along the East coast. After one week, we met Marie’s family in Xania. We tryed to climb on Mount Pelion but there’s a military base up there and they would not let us cross. Then we followed the O2 Trail and here started the troubles. The hiking culture in Greece isn’t strong and the trails are disappearing as nobody uses them. After the village of Pouri… Actually look at the video, it’s all in it!
After this nightmare, our family went back to Paris and we headed to the Pierian mountains where we met Paris, an amazing refuge keeper. He saved the impression of our last days in Greece with his passion and his kindness.
