    Sara, an IT professional & Stephen a graphic designer and artist are world-traveling Canadians who dreamt of moving to Europe, and France in particular. In 2020 they were working from home when Stephen turned to Sara and popped the question she was longing to hear, “What would have to be true for us to buy a chateau in France?” They searched online for months viewing hundreds of properties. They narrowed their search and toured some properties when they happened upon the one that captured our hearts, Château de Saint-Germain-des-Prés. A year later they made the move to France to start their new adventure in our beautiful Château. They created “Manor and Maker” to reflect the two sides of their adventure. One, to live as chateau owners with all the ups and downs and two, to pursue their passions as makers, creating art in all its forms. They will invite others to come together, united by their passions, to share in this adventure. We invite you to join us too, as we bring our dreams to life. Welcome to Manor & Maker.

      At higher end dinning the waiter always has a white small towel around the champagne bottle for over flow saves on the spill and mess just simple touches of class to save mess and time but what the heck some like the mess for theatrical pleasure 😅

      Beautiful sketch!! But how can I convince a community to give without a sketch of the hole? I think you must think big Sir. I will try to share the sketch of the first video pic you showed the hole, that I can convince my community to give? And the dog in the picture Sir. Thank you. Maybe then we have three sketches to choose from?. Was lovely to see your gardens. We seldom see it. Glorious video of the outside of the chateau.

      Great retreat by the looks of the results at the end and happy faces all round! Steve your paintings are awesome and I will certainly order a copy asap. Sara you look lovely in lavender – you made a great job of sewing it yourself if my memory serves me right? 👏🥰

      Such a surprise but lovely to see Stuart popping up in the kitchen!😅 That must have taken a load off Sara’s shoulders and guests will still enjoy delicious cuisine. Isn’t it great that Chateau de LaLande has brought all these wonderfully talented people together and they have formed such amazing friendships. 👌🥰💐

      Just a great episode. I'm not sure why but watching Steve sketch the barn brought back memories of seeing Victor Ambrose sketching the sites that Time Team visited years ago. What an incredible talent. So sorry I was standing behind the door when that talent was given out.
      Better not leave out that I loved seeing the work that all the people did. What a wonderful time they all had, and the stories and memories they'll take back.
