    DISASTER on the German Autobahn! (The End of Van Life)

    Things haven’t been looking too good for our Custard the bus. After a breakdown last week that cost us £650 she takes another turn for the worst, this time on the crazy fast German Autobahn where there is no speed limit. Craig and bike jones to the rescue. (It wasn’t as dangerous as it seems promise) This is the end of van life for now as we drop out van to Gary from Barry to work on and renovate for the next few months ready for a new adventure soon.

      feel like a mint green or like a beige latte kinda colour would look great on the custard but with a lighter colour, dirty would be more visible unfortunately

      The Germans don't call the petrol cans "jerry cans" because a "jerry" is what the allied forces called the German army back in the day
      So some might even find it a little offensive
      I have made the same "mistake" with local Germans trying to figure out what the hell I am on about and who this Jerry is 😂

      Glad you made it home in the end and didn't get detained on the continent. Have an awesome time in Bali. Are you actually taking Custard to Canada?? Or will you do Canada in a different van?

      The need for maintenance is just OMG. How much do you guys need to invest in order to have your home running like new?? It seems like everyone is lacking maintenance and having to struggle on the side of the road.

      If you are actually going to come to Canada, I would love to show you around Alberta. Key thing to buy will be to purchase a national park pass. Save you lots of money for plenty of cool places!

      OMG I almost died of anxiety seeing you bike on the Autobahn (I'm German). That was so dangerous! If you break down on the Autobahn, just get behind the safety railing away from your vehicle and call for help! Do not walk on it or bike on it! I am so glad nothing happened to you.

      i think a nice place you should both try with custard is the lake district you can take llamas a walk there the lakes are amazing for a cold water dip there are little islands to to explore

      We just drove back from Germany to Lincoln (VW Golf, not van). We spent the night in Antwerp, it was supposed to be a 5 hour drive from Quedlinburg. We left at 10. We checked into our hotel at quarter to 8! So much traffic and roadworks and accidents on the Autobahn.

      Guys…. I tried and would tried everything I possibly could to just catch but a glimpse of you and I just watched this episode and, err, you literally spend a night, like, a few km's away from us….? One of our favorite places next to the river the Lek…? HOW! What a coincidence!! If I had only known…
