  3. I guessed the excuse me part correctly i went to an authentic sushi restaurant in LA with a predominantly Japanese staff. I know sumimasen is excuse me so I raised my hand and said sumimasen, later during the check the waitress never showed up. Probably expecting me to say okaikei onegaishimasu lol

  8. I love this channel I really learn a lot because me and mine sister want to make a trip to Japan u really learn new things every day ๐Ÿ˜Š

  9. Funny story about #7 from a friend of mine who studied Japanese in University:

During the unit about shopping, the professor had all of the students break out into groups and roleplay a shopping scenario. Midway through, the professor stopped every group, because they were pronouncing the words wrong. It was at that moment that he learned something very fascinating:

Kore wa Ikura desu ka = How much is this?
Kore wa iKUra desu ka = Is this caviar?

Too many of my friend's class (himself included) were putting emphasis on the second phrase and not the first. Lesson learned, and a little laugh along the way!

  10. Maiko is too cute. Love her facial expressions. Seems like a very fun lady. When I ate at sushi places, after I finished my meal I just gave the lady at the counter by the door a 10,000 yen note. Never had an issue.
