We arrived in Hanoi and spent the first rainy day visiting multiple museums as well as a traditional water puppet show! We visited the Hoa Lo Prison which was a prison used by the French colonists in French Indochina for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for U.S. prisoners of war during the Vietnam War. It was interesting seeing this from the Vietnamese perspective as it highlighted how well the US prisoners were treated, and made us think about what we had learned growing up about this war, as I’m sure both sides need to be taken with a grain of salt. We then got food and ended the night with a water puppet show which was fantastic!

Stay tuned for next Sunday’s video where we explore the Ho Chi Minh memorial!
