Lviv Opera House is in Lviv, the largest western city in Ukraine. It marks the cultural history of the city where opera and ballet performances happen. It features both neo-Baroque and neo-Renaissance architecture. Besides, it has some elements of Art Nouveau.

We have seen ballet Giselle, ou les Wilis. “Giselle, or Willis” is also regarded as the best work of the famous French composer, Adolphe Charles Adam. The libretto for the ballet, “Giselle”, is based on an old legend, retold by Heinrich Heine in a short story about the willis; brides who dies before their wedding and could not attain their dream of happiness. When they would meet a man at midnight, the willis would dance with him until he died.

  1. Hmmm… girls betrayed by their grooms who died before the wedding and turn into ruthless spirits… here in the U.S. I think that would fall under the heading of country music 😂 or there abouts. It sounds like such a happy topic.

  2. Women turned into ruthless spirits BEFORE the wedding? Who wrote this because they got THAT part backwards. We all know it's always AFTER the wedding. The sets are very nice, though. Thank you!
