    Interview with Himanshu Talwar



    Switching from speaking Spanish with a Latin American flair to learning the Japanese way of life and their language is not something many Indians, especially those who have grown up in India, would be able to handle. But successfully achieving this huge career switch and overcoming many other challenges are precisely the elements that have propelled management consultant and international trade expert Himanshu Talwar to where he is today.

    Blessed with a good education from reputed institutes and having benefitted from a highly successful career, giving back to the society and helping others has been his motto. Talwar has long been keen to spread his knowledge and good fortune amongst the less fortunate. Be it through career guidance or even things as basic as providing books or helping underprivileged students with their tuition fees, Talwar has never stopped sharing or caring.

    Tracing Talwar’s journey can be done through many lenses, for he is a multifaceted personality – a Management Guru, TEDx speaker, a writer, a humanist and a spiritually-inclined traveller.

      The tourism ministry and department has bee mostly staffed by those who use it as a stepping stone, settling down abroad and getting themselves jobs etc. Total wastage and even now has no one to encourage inbound tourists. People like Himanshu could be used here, but will politicians and bureaucrats allow it? The country makes no difference to their time worn working methods as this department lies in tatters. Smaller countries have 8 times the foreign visitors, India gets. I say give him direct interaction with the Minister, who probably has no idea of his job

      I have the pleasure to work with Dr Talwar and believe me he's the one you can call a Master of Management (strategic more appropriately), master of writing & communication, master of oratory, and an extremely good sense of Humour. His presence in any organisation is in itself a motivation to his colleagues and employees.

      Dr Talwar is the man who justifies the word 'Policy Advocacy' in associations and Industry Bodies due to his colossal knowledge base and multidisciplinary education and work exposure to different domains. Associations, Federations and Industry bodies need people like Dr Talwar to address the issues of fraternity instead of creating just positions good for nothing.

      I summarise Dr Talwar as the one: 'Who lives to Work, not the one who works to Live'.
