Join me on one of the worst flights I’ve taken to date, Iberia’s Airbus A330 in Business Class. There was little premium about today’s experience, the cabin cleanliness was shocking, the inflight food was lacking and in part inedible and given the price point of this flight – it offers poor value for money.

As always I offer a brutally honest review of what it’s like to fly in the pointy end, so you can expect a comprehensive review of the Business Class lounge at Chicago airport, along with a seat tour, food & beverage walkthrough and that all important “bed” rating. As always do let me know what you think, and also what your experience of Iberia has been to date? Was this just them on a really bad day, or this actually a more common occurrence?

  1. Thanks all for watching. Just to note, unfortunately when rendering (saving from my editing software) there's a 4 second segment showing a placeholder in place of what should have been a beautiful map i've spent a long time creating. But fear not, it will feature in next weeks video, my 52 train journey across America 🙂

  2. I fly Iberia Business on short-haul flights a lot. Pros: Food, Business Lounge in Madrid, air fare; Cons: dirt everywhere, poor service, luggage arrives the next day, business seats very uncomfortable in the business cabin, especially at windows, loo is small and smelly

  3. Summary = American low quality food standards meet Iberian inability to meet hygiene standards or demand them in their local or outsourced overseas contracts. Food in Spain, but made in Spain, not in Illinois, is still fantastic though, just forget the flight and do not judge them from what came out of Chicago!

  4. For such a dirty dusty plane, I don’t think that I would’ve used the blanket provided

  5. Those flight attendants would’ve been sick of me politely asking them to clean every filth encounter! For that kind of money I wouldn’t have been shy about it at all either! Lol

  6. In 1991 my pal and I flew from Hawai'i to New Zealand/Aotearoa. The passenger who had been in 'my' seat before me had gotten sick all over the seat back, tray table, and floor surrounding me. How can I put this…? There were still chunks around and everything was soaking wet from insufficient cleaning. The crew were appalled and gave me 5 or 6 blankets to cover the mess and an extra pillow for the wet floor. Still, it was almost 10 hours and not a single spare seat to shift me to. Worst flight ever for lack of cleanliness.

  7. OMG if that was a hotel i would have left!! why on earth didnt you show someone that mess?? and at that price!! simply disgusting, you should have a refund and an apology! there are cleaning crews, they dont expect the cabin crew to do that work!! GROSS

  8. Iberia kept the seat belt on throughout the flight from Miami to madrid even though there was no turbulence. I had to threaten to pee in my seat to be allowed to use the bathroom

  9. This brings to mind what a landlord told me about the house he was going to show us one wintery afternoon about 10-12 years ago. He said that house was "not quite the Taj Mahal" So, the wife and myself went in open minded and the instant we pulled up to see broken, boarded over windows and a HUGE industrial strength steel grate door over the front door I laughed uncontrollably. My wife refused to get out of the car. The old Marine in me came to the fore and I followed the "gentleman" in. The carpeting had feces, urine AND blood stains all over the place. The walls had not been repainted in at least 20 years with gaping holes all over. There wasn't any kitchen (stove or fridge) appliances. I did not expect a dishwasher, but the sink was old school porcelain and cracked. The laugher was, he was expecting $700 a month when the market value for a 2 bed 1 bath place was running barely $800. It was a travesty and I actually headed down to the tribal office to report him for even attempting to rent the property and they didn't even bat an eyelash, he just simply ignored their numerous orders to refurb the property because he always finds somebody willing to rent the place for cash with no lease… I would have walked off that aircraft…

  10. That lack of cleanliness on any airline is unacceptable, but this level of dirt is a health hazard. No one should feel bad for cabin crews or airlines. They are making a huge amount of profit for the last 10 years ever since the 08 financial crisis! No excuses, I hope anyone looking to fly business class vote with their wallet and choose a different airline when possible. #AVOIDIBERIA

  11. Worst Airline ever. My wife baggage stayed in transit for over a week. We are unable to know exactly where they are and no body on the phone is willing to help unless you file claim at the airport which the airport refuse to do because they want us to contact iberia . The customer service are rude and not helpful at all. Right now we dont where my wife baggage is nor we are able to track them online and no one from Iberia is willing to help

  12. I flew Iberia from Madrid to Washington DC a couple of weeks ago. I flew coach because all my friends booked tickets in that cabin. I decided to do the same to be next to them…even though I really wanted to fly business. I'm glad I did after watching this review and saved thousands. I must admit, the cabin crew were a bit surly and almost rude. Needless to say, I don't expect I'll be flying Iberia anytime soon.

  13. Cleanest flight I have ever been on was from Singapore to Shanghai. After each person had been to the toilet, an air hostess went in to check the cleanliness

  14. You shouldn’t single out individuals or show their picture, if not up to your expectations.
Maybe that was a joke, but never the less not cool.
Maybe they had something really bad just happen, right?

  15. You should NEVER remove your seatbelt when flying. You will never see a traveling airline crew member doing that. You break your neck when you hit the ceiling, only for lav visits.

  16. Every time I've flown in Iberia everything has been clean and the crew is always super nice, they always say hello, offer drinks and are super friendly all throughout the trip
