👍😎🤿🇵🇭! I totally agree but in my case we have a house we own and my Filipino wife has sent many UMAC boxes of things she can’t find in the Philippines! But as we travel around I tend to keep it light for me my wife on the other hand 😂 well you know women! I’m pretty sure after a while she will lighten up her travel bags🤣!
Nice video hope your trip coming up soon. Is wonderful have gio
Minimalism should not apply to swim wear ! LOL gio the mistake I made in mexico was continually upgrading my living accommodations this was a big problem my rents went $200 per mo to $350 to $600 foolish I'm now paying $180 per month for 2 studio apartments in bohol food for thought mia we all saw it the first time !!! It like fine art .
Tis wise to minimalize.. free your mind & realize!
But once there's a woman-in-tow.. well.. you-know.. 😅😊😉
Hey Gio my dear friend, I have always been a minimumlist. If I buy something new, I usually just donate the old thing. When I moved here from the United States, I literally just had one back pack and one suitcase. I sold everything before I came to live in the Philippines. Me and my wife will be doing a lot of traveling around southeast Asia in the upcoming months. We are also thinking about moving to Escalante City. Have you ever been in that area of the Philippines Gio? I did also bought a big screen TV as well. But I will sell it if we move to Escalante City. Thank you Gio my dear friend for sharing this awesome video. Please stay safe and healthy, and God bless you, Maya, and little Nora always. BTW, that resort looks awesome.😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
As I commented in another one of your videos recently I am 73 single never married, but lived in my house for 45 years that I bought when I was 28. It’s almost a 2000 square-foot three-bedroom house that I certainly don’t need anything that big but when I bought it they each 28 I didn’t know that I would be a pastor all my life I have way too many things that I’ve collected over these 45 years ….at heart I am a minimalist and I don’t feel that I buy things I don’t need…. I am a carpenter in my heart, but I’ve also been a realtor for the last 17 years…. I see how hard it is emotionally for people to sell their homes because of memories of their kids growing up or a lifespan together with their spouse…… when you get old being comfortable in your surroundings is a major factor in your peace of mind….. and as you age, your health, and your mobility, certainly play a factor as well….. that’s why getting the travel bug out of your system while you’re younger and you still can is a good idea……. nature and animals are my first love, and I have surrounded myself with both in my forest like yard yet in a suburban area of a large city….. in my mid-70s with a couple of health issues. It would be a very difficult decision for me …….to live a nomadic lifestyle…… for me I think the best I can hope to do is take a 1 to 3 month vacation during the winter to those less crowded places in the world…. i’ve been to the Visyas area of the Phillipines three times and I’ll be coming back this January for two months.
Hello thanks for your videos, they help us to have an idea of how to live in the Philippines I want to go to live Allekka next year you can recommend some province near Dumaguete what price you can get a small house of two rooms there near Dumaguete. Thanks for your answer I wait for you
I didn't hear what you were saying after 5.40 for a minute 🤣
I just returned from the United States where I spent 3 months getting rid of everything. Once you start letting things go you will discover how freeing it is to not have much stuff in your life.
Best thing to do
Live like a filipino.
You live an American
It will be very stressful and more expensive than usa
Sardines 20 pesos a can
Beef steak 800 a kilo
I eat sardines
5:41 ? 🥸
I am two years from retirement right now just started selling things. I’m ordering a dumpster next spring.
And I’m going to make a bunch of trips to Goodwill. I’ve been thinking about this very topic for quite a while, and finally acting on it. 👍
I'm a bit off from moving across the world, but live in a modest home and actually want to sell it and build a smaller one (like really small) if conditions turn around here in the states and it isn't so expensive to do it. But holding off with the cost of things right now and interest rates, etc. I already have a mortgage quite a bit less than what people pay for small apartments. Minimalism definitely takes away stress for me. I hate clutter. When i went to the Philippines in 2016 and met my now wife, i had just a PacSafe backpack i carried on. Way happier with less!
Such an important topic Gio. You can also travel much lighter without the proverbial kitchen sink tied to your back. There is a certain freedom also I find in not being attached to a lot of material things. I have now moved from Dumaguete (which I love) and I am now in Balawan and loving it here. Every person I have met has been nothing short of being full of smiles and kindness. Thanks for sharing! 🙏
I good Comfy arm chair. good internet and A/C- I am good. Save money for travel👍 Good video. How do you get Amazon with no street addresses. Food looks good! Nice beach. Do they have Wifi?
Gio i agree Minimalism is the way to go , i am living in a 3 bedroom house and i realized i dont need half the things i have brought , now im trying to sell them on marketplace , and have found out i cant even get 30% of the price i paid for them…. might just need to Donate them ….
5:40 is when I stopped listening 😂
I had to reduce the speed of the video to 0.25
I used to buy a lot of material stuff in my 20s but I’ve been on a travel kick for last two years and I sold all the stuff I had because I won’t need it anymore. Philippines has been amazing to me.
Spent 3 nights in a beach kubo with fishing gear supplied by local kuya 2 weeks ago there on a trip. Lived off fresh fish supplemented with some coconuts for those 3 days. Minimalisms at its best, did not buy from a market those 3 days.
Ive never flown soplease forgive the newbie question; can you bring full sized shampoo and body wash on a flight to the Philippines or is that something ill have to buy when i land?
I relocated to Thailand in a similar manner in 2021. Now I make it a point to have as little stuff as possible. Furnished condo close to the beach and a bicycle. Couldn't be happier
Wise thoughts..
The older I get, the more I look around and think "Man, I gotta get rid of some of this stuff." The sad part is most of it isn't really worth a lot. Anyone who's ever had to handle the execution of an estate finds out soon that nobody wants what the deceased had, with the exception of cars, gold and guns, in that order.
Thanks again Gio for sharing
