How will retiring overseas to the Philippines affect your life? There will be cultural changes, language challenges even in the Philippines where English is the 2nd official language, money exchange rates, transportation, and learning much more about this new country or any other SE Asian nation. A new relationship that comes easily here can have a dramatic affect on your live and future as well as your budget.

  1. I am way less materialistic than I was back home, perhaps because Iโ€™m retired and my priorities have changed, but also because it just seems out of place to have too much here when most have very little, and for the most part , survive quite well.

  2. Love your channel – has been following it since the beginning of covid. Great stuff. Also you have some good opinions which I agree with. The 360 camera I am not so sure about though. I forgot what the video was about (retirement) because the video was so wird ๐Ÿ˜…. I have seen a couple of youtubers using the camera. My suggestion is to use it as a short clip once in a while during the video to shift perspective, but if you use it all the time it just looks wird and your eyes (and in my case my ears) gets tired.

  3. Great video! Amazing idea showing a local market in 360. I must admit I did not listen that much what you explained because I was mesmerized by the produce and food all around.

  4. I am moving out after Christmas I have been going there for years and years I try to put poor people to school I have put many and all I ask is they do the same for one other when they can afford it .Best thing I have ever done I have many friends Philippines friends they all stay in touch with me.

  5. I noticed that in many of the house building vlogs. That the workers did things how THEY like and not what is well know to be right ( mostly how they 1/2 ass mix and use cement.) Unless they are overseen and directed by an retuning OFW. Who will not put up with their BS.

  6. Me also retired here soon 2028 going to moved there I liked the philippines it's opened with alot of people there not liked here Different see people do different things not liked us needs to see more islands and places

  9. Hello Rod. I never expected to retire in the Philippines. Now after having spent five years in retirement here,I can't imagine living anywhere else. It kinda just grows on you after awhile. Go easy there my friend.

  10. You should take things slow when it comes to dating.
I dated a girl from samar province we went to visit her family and they started making arrangements for the wedding.

I was only with the girl for a week some of the families think if your visiting and sleeping with the girl your going to marry her.

I thought we were only going to her family for a visit lol not to make wedding arrangements lol.

    Thanks for sharing rod
