48 hour solo camp on an Island – worst moment to realise I was NOT ALONE! (Solo Female camping)
After a brilliant van life journey in France I was in seek of a bit of solitude in nature, and the best place to find that in the south of England can only be on an Island completely inaccessible by vehicle right? So, off I went with my tent to do some solo female camping in the wild!
Brownsea island has a rich history and is home to many species of wildlife, where better to get some peace than camping on this remote Island alone. Only I was not as alone as I thought, and it was at the worst possible moment that I realised this…

Hopefully you are enjoying this European travel series as much as we are and we are managing to show you just some of the stunning landscapes that France has to offer in this French travel vlog.
As usual, we have tried to include a bit of everything, some cinematic scenery mixed with our usual female van life foolery, we always love hearing what you lot think in the comments so do let us know, and as always, thank you for watching!
Follow us on our journey as we attempt to create a proper youtube travel series as we, two female travelers and vanlifers, attempt to travel across Europe in our rolling tiny home.

Love the peahen 🦚 coming to investigate your camp and show off her chicks to you.
Another great video 😊 We're just back from the UK, took us ages to get from the eurotunnel down to Cornwall, nightmare.
Have you been to wallaby island?
Brilliant as per usual, gorgeous island with its friendly wildlife 🙌
The ducks made me smile..looks lovely there. As for the tourists u probably made their night lol
Wow, Lou has legs… really nice legs 🙂 great vid, and will certainly visit the Island, you really need to do more vids though, it was great when I first subscribed, binge watched all your stuff and you two gals became my fave campervan channels. looking forward to your next adventures, at 58 I am pretty well convinced I will buy and build a van.
am a Brit, living in Russia and plan to explore Siberia (in the warm months of course) campervans are becoming popular over here.
Fun Fact.. There may be full moons at random points in the day 😛
Keep on Keeping on x
I love this approach to learn about new places. Of course you were not wild, wild camping but to safely see wildlife accustomed to public whilst carrying expensive equipment is probably inviting for many people. I admit being a little bored after about 3 years of watching Van daily life of what they ingest, digest and evacuate! I am interested in how people travel and places that would be accessible for me at this age! I can see that Youtuber Vanlifers (property owners- most of them) have to up their game, round the changes etc. YOu have made that your work and other work to earn your income. I appreciate the joy given to people like me, who cannot afford to be a patreon of any Youtuber, not on my pension, SO THANK YOU. However, for a single woman, your Mum's age, for my own mentality I have to get out of my dark French house which I admit is a bonus in this heat but brings on major depression in the winter months or even summer if it is too hot to be in the sunshine and shade. Just returned from a 5 day trip including journey days to La Rochelle, and a fave 'sort of secret and wild now' parking at Ile de Ré. I explored your parking suggestions for parking on the coastline with an amazing place where I finished my birthday trip with the freshest quality in size and taste best 'moules marinières' of my life, EVER! No shade so I wouldnt wish to stay there for long! The fun of the one I ate out was interesting to find as a Kangoo van but a larger vehicle would have found access almost impossible … which suits me to be away from camper van sardines! It's good to do one's own research…part of the fun of exploring..however, challenge of finding a suitable power bank suitable for my temporary van situation and budget is difficult for a non techie person. The hand held portable phone charger runs out as quickly as the iphone! A french man told me to buy a solar panel and he said he didn't have a leisure battery! Anyway… I enjoy your changes of content but have missed a week of vloggers! Looking fwd to why you've had to decamp so fast!
Absolutely brilliant.
Such great video making! I love the camping series. Thanks for showing us around Brownsea
Hi Lou, loved the video, just a quick question next time you’re talking to air up, can you ask if they plan to ship to Australia as we would love to get their bottles and pods, so far only Europe and the USA, I’ve tried to send a message but you can’t from here, look forward to the next video 😁
great solo video Lou – thanks very much x
Fab vid. Love the baby peacocks.
This was like a proper episode, nicely done!
Wonderful video
Hello Louise thanks for showing us your trip to the beautiful Brownsea island 🏝.
Many years ago with had a ferry ride around this beautiful Isle😍.
Camping is so much fun ,and good bit of history about the scouts.
Best wishes Simon and Beth ❤🙋♥️
Louise great video but the "ocean" you refer to is the plain old boring english channel or " la manche"
Great place, except for the ticks.
the pod on the drink is basically a form of vape juice/scent… dont buy it dont use it
Loved your vlog Louise, so is the John Lewis hotel not running there anymore ??
We absolutely loved your Brownsea Island (red squirrel) video Lou many thanks 😊 👌
That was lovely. You were lucky to get that trip in before the bad weather started. I'm fortunately in France with fab weather and fantastic park ups.
Great vlog as usual. You must have some amazing wildlife photos.
Looking forward to next exciting trip xx
Please come to the Isle of Wight xxxxx
Awh Lou that was awesome. Didn’t know that island existed. Those ducks were brilliant so funny 😂. Definitely at that to the bucket list. Thanks for sharing 😊
