Hey Man , thank you for new tips and Amazing video again but do we need again to apply for : Visit Japan – for application on the phone to get in to Airport Tokyo .
If I buy the JR pass before October can I still use it after the price change in early november?
I think Iโm going to go in January or February. I really wanted to go this November but itโs just coming up too soon. I hope thereโs some pretty snow this winter and itโs not too cold
going to japan in 10 days so hyped
I locked my 28-day rail pass at 1k. /win
Oh god you mentioning to book a few weeks in advance makes my palms sweatyโฆ I was fully booked 5 months in advance ๐ซฃ๐
I'm definitely going to have to watch this because the Suica cart that I have still has a balance on it because I knew I was coming back, and I absolutely loved my JR pass. Thank you for sharing this information.
Super helpful info! Heading to Japan in 2 days โค
I took the Nozomi Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka and back in December using the JR pass, it's a bummer that's not covered anymore. ๐ Finding a place to stay for this upcoming October has been much harder this year understandably. It's nice to see things are heading back to normal for Japan, I'm looking forward to seeing peoples faces this time around!
I'm spending Christmas and New Year's in Japan (for the fourth time). We are all set with airline tickets and hotel reservations. Nagoya, Hiroshima/Miyajima, Kansai (Kyoto, Osaka, Nara), and Tokyo on this adventure.
10 more weeks until my trip! Can't stop won't stop ๐
Going Oct.19th! Can't wait!
Still buying a pass because the cost of it when it goes up still covers the cost for a roundtrip from Tokyo to Kyoto and from Tokyo to Osaka. Plus the added benefits of round trips to Haneda airport, as well as the 3 -4 local trains that I know we are going to use frequently, it still benefits us, cuz it'll save us about 100$.
Me watching this in a Japanese hotel on day 3 of my trip :O
We're planning a trip to Tokyo and have hotel reservations in October. We've double checked and the reservations are still standing. Should we double check again 30 days out?
You're heaven-sent. Thanks for the info.
No rooms when I last checked for April 2024 lol this was 3 wks ago
Well, looks like I booked my first vacation during typhoon season!
Not sure if this is pointed out but the regional passes on the JR East site cannot be purchased with a debit card, only credit card
The new JR pass prices will definitely calm down the system ๐ think it will be better , a much more enjoyable experience if less people use it , I didn't realise how short staffed the hotels were ๐ฎ
Thank you!!! Great tips
I am going to Japan in August ๐
So many crisis ๐
Super informative video though ๐๐ป๐๐ป
I see the Yen is slowely climbing back. $1 usd now equals $139 Yen
I thankfully booked my rooms for October way back in February, so bullet dodged (I guess). The super El Niรฑo is definitely the villain in this story, so packing a rain coat may not be such a bad idea.
The JR pass cost increase is far too significant to simply be a readjustment due to the uptick in tourism, but we could spend days discussing conspiracy theories, so no. If you're planning on buying it, it's literally now or never, since if you wait until after the increase; unless you plan to spend most of your time in the country just moving around, it won't cover its own cost.
Thanks Harb, and cheers to all!
I will be traveling to Japan this November. Hopefully I can locked in the current JR price and still be usable in November before price increase.
welcome suica works for 28 days….
Hello you re very good. Itโs a great help for us for your suggestion of taking regional jr passes. Thank you so much. You explain very well.
Iโm literally booked for square hotel. Video scared me !!
I've eaten at Waffle House…Nothing can ruin my Japan trip…
would it be possible to add subtitles?๐ฅฒ
Almost every hotel review on Agoda says the rooms are not cleaned, very dusty (even a clock is dusty), no housekeeping for days & amenities are at the front desk where guests have to take the items themselves, air-conditioning not working. So don't expect the air-ducts or air-conditioning filters to be cleaned either (since 2019 or perhaps even further back).
I'm so glad I booked everything in January for October trip…
