  1. Hi Laurie, I'm taking a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in March next year so starting to do some research on what I need to make it a memorable trip with little to no stress. I'm taking a personal luggage bag and a carry on so this video was very helpful. I'm looking at pants from QVC by a designer, Susan Graver (planning on buying a black and brown pair of Liquid knit pants and regular Gap jeans). The material is called Liquid Knit and it's very soft but substantial and will take up little room. I've purchased some tops and they take up very little space. They'll be fine packing them in the compression cubes as they don't wrinkle. I already checked on compression cubes so definitely buying these. I appreciate all your good tips.
    Thanks ❤

  2. I like to sit in the aisle seat, I have bladder control issues so I need to be able to go to the bathroom easily without having to step all over everybody to get in and out!!

  3. I have flown carryon only since about 2012. I prefer to keep that $50 to do other things. But on February 9 of 2021 I found the biggest reason to travel light. You just never know when something might happen and you have to get out in a hurry. I called an Uber for the airport. We were in a massive multi car pileup due to very sudden ice. This was Final Destination stuff. I thought my life might end right there. Somehow, a Good Samaritan got me to the airport. We got my bags out of the totaled Uber and walked over to his truck. It was a bad 10 days in Oklahoma and Texas. So travel light and stay safe, people! Oh and buy the travel insurance.

  4. Ok, I worked for 3 Airlines from 1970 until 1981 (2 of them due to a merger),then in 1990 until 2012 I worked for two major travel agencies. I always overpack, and I bring a lot of medicine and comfort items with me. Many times, i end up using all of the prescription medicine and OTC, as well as all of the Comfort items. I will be on a 15-day cruise followed by a two-week land vacation. I am going to perform a dry run of packing this weekend to see if I can get everything into a 21in carry-on and a tote bag. I highly doubt it, but I'm going to give it a try with compression cubes and regular packing cubes.

  5. I purchased a Lovelook backpack….I know I am going to love it. My husband is disabled so I need free hands but a bag I can put lots in after we drop off our checked luggage. Thanks for the recommend

  6. Are you aware of the On Gossamer panties that are very thin and lightweight? I buy them on Amazon and if you wash them they dry very quickly. I find them quite comfortable as well.

  7. Hi Laurie ? I am new to your Chanel and love all the travel tips. We are going on a 10 day Northern European cruise. I am planning on traveling light. Are there quick dry under wear? Didn’t want to pack 13 pairs. Lol

  8. Laurie — I appreciate all your packing and fashion advice. I must admit, though, that I could never pack just in a carry-on bag. The reason? My hair! I need to pack large packing cube bag with about 20 large rollers (mirror, roller pins, and a comb insider), a 2000-watt hair dryer,, and a straightening iron. Just as an experiment I put all of these in a carry on sized bag and there was no room for anything else. Well, maybe I could get one rolled up tee shirt and a toothbrush in there! In one of your videos you mentioned sort of off hand that there was no need to pack a hairdryer. I must disagree. Sadly, the hair dryers in hotels are probably 1100 or maybe 1300 watts, max. I would be there all day trying to get my hair dry! You have cute hair — and looks great always, and I'm sure the small wattage hair dryers work for you. My hair is thick, coarse and wavy, and will turn into a frizzball in 5 minutes if I don't tame it with rollers and the straightening iron. So, I will always be at the luggage carousel, waiting for my large luggage to appear! Thanks for your great channel. Carolyn Phillips, North Carolina

  9. I ship my stuff to the hotel or EBB so I don't have to carry anything. Another tip is to have a box in the trunk of your rental or car. This great if you take your own pillows on a trip. I also make a trip to the wash, dry and fold to get my clothes clean before I go home.

  10. Is the travel blanket considered a carry-on item in addition to your suitcase and carry-on personal item? In other words, if you have the blanket secured to your carry-on suitcase is it allowed in addition to your personal item?

  11. I always take at least one cashmere/blend scarf. If I'm cold on the plane, it makes a great blanket, and I'd rather use that than an airline blanket (which may not meet my standards of cleanliness). On the trip, I can wear it with a plain shirt to dress it up a bit – or throw it around my shoulders when I'm a little chilly. Also, when touring, if I'm going into a cathedral or someplace else where women should wear skirts, I can use it quickly as a wrap-around skirt. I love my multi-function scarves and they don't take much space in the carry-on bag.
