Having our UK van in Japan is quite unusual but we never expected to get taken to the police station. This was a first for us.

luckily the police did not give you any problems . Even gave you a memo for your future encounters with the japan police, which is very nice. Stay safe and have a safe journey . God bless always
Hello tread the globe🎉
Good info thank you…Worth the money we think…
odd that- having done this for years – you didnt have your paperwork at the ready
Ask Google Maps for how to drive from Seoul or Shanghai to Tokyo, and it immediately becomes clear why the police are confused. Taking a foreign car to Japan is a totally unusual thing to do. The resolution at 10:00 is fantastic. This officer actually realized that the same thing is likely to happen again and helped to make it smoother the next time. As a German plus only having the report of what happened, I can't judge if there was an element of silent reproach in this, but it was absolutely constructive and helpful.
By the way, there is a bit of a murky issue here, not with the car but with public photography. Japanese law seems to be similar to German law in this respect. You can video in public as much as you want so long as you don't harass people, but you need the consent of recognisable people before publication. It appears that Japanese TV and YouTubers typically blur the faces of bystanders for this reason. Otherwise they might get sued. It may be easier for foreigners to get away with this as they are harder to sue, but using this seems a bit unfair to me.
small fact a woman from Leigh lancs called Kathleen Mary Drew-Baker helped the nori seaweed industry and is somewhat of a Japanese legend, the scientist is now known as the ‘Mother of the Sea’ and her work is celebrated in the country each year on April 14.
A scouse bricklayer goes for a job on a building site
The foreman says I am sorry we only employ Irish people
The scouser replies my Granny is Irish
Foreman says tell your granny to report at 8 o'clock in the morning and bring her work boots
Nicest. Police. Ever.
Very nice video👍
You're going to love travelling in Japan you can pretty much park anywhere that's not private property or causing nuisance. Michi no ekis are good to park in, but you usually find them in tollway roads which are expensive but convenient. You'll soon learn that the cars are small coz the roads are small. I got stuck in a small road and had to do a 40 point u turn .kei cars have cheaper rego as well.
Lovely to see some actually good cops in the World, what nice guys to give you a note that could help you out as you continue your journey. I have only just come across your channel, have subscribed and will be going back to watch your earlier videos. I do enjoy a good travel vlog channel.
Hi there, you two british lovebirds! 👋💕
I see the map on the side of your camper van, and I can't wait to watch the video when your journey home takes you two through malaysia later! 😊🇲🇾
Take care, stay safe and no traffic offences! 😬👍
Hello, I hope you are all having the time of your life and thank you for taking me a long with you 🙂 1000 Yen is $9.32 Canadian and $7.04 USA dollars and only $5.48 Pound sterling 🙂 wow Beautiful place for sure — Mad love from the east coast of Canada. Your red line and your green line on your map I'm in the middle 🙂 LOL We have the highest tides in the world here on the Fundy and you would have loved to see it 🙂 Maybe next time round 🙂 Travel safe 🙂
Japan is dumping 100 million tons of nuclear waste into the sea, and is dumping nuclear waste into the sea. Protect and save the international ocean.
Epic point of your journey to think that you’re on most easterly point and from now it’s the journey of your return. Thanks for your travels and for opening our minds to the many places of the world. And there ain’t any roads that Trudy can’t drive : if she can do: Georgia with no road! Literally guys! The rough road to the Arctic Ocean in Canada, and up the hilly road of Black Sea region of Turkey (they were so narrow) and those men’s faces when they saw Marianne in driving seat were a picture 😁 xxx safe travels xx
Great info
I am Japanese. Japanese police officers are generally very kind individuals. They perform daily duties such as questioning individuals, but if there are no particular issues, they will release them promptly.
Another excellent leg of your adventure. I echo the sentiment thar has been said about the police, how polite and humble.
It’s great to see families all working together 🫶
The police officers were so lovely 👌
Mmmmm I love crab and that looked so tasty 😋
Hospitality at its finest again 👏👏👏👏
