    Catania Airport Fire HUGE Delays!!? PLUS Taormina+ Avola



    Terminal A arrival at Catania Airport was closed after a fire on July 16.

      Stritfud has excellent arancini, as well. They make them fresh daily. Now, the granita at Bam Bar is different from most granita, and different from every other granita I tasted in Sicily this year. Frankly, I preferred that from Bam Bar…

Quick question, we are getting a hire car from Hertz at Catania airport (not flights) do you think it will be open around the 21st of August? It’s hard to find information especially from here in Australia

      Yes that fire affected my daughter and son-in-law from getting to her hotel in Ragusa from Naples where they had to sleep in pods at the Naples airport 🤣. They took a train from Naples to the southern most point of Italy, and hopped on the ferry over to Messina. Luckily the travel agent in the US got them a private driver to take them to their hotel and 2&1/2 hr drive. They finally arrived after a 55 hr ordeal. Luckily for them they looked at it like an adventure

      Excuse me but that’s part of the charm here in Italy. Buses that never arrive no communication and everyone just give you the shrug.

      fire has been a huge setback for me and my family, from living in vena, our flight got sent once to peleurmo which is a 5 hour drive, and then our most recent one to napals!, have they lost their minds?, i would cost a fortune to even get a taxi to pelurmo, but napals is way to far!,even though this even has affected the enitre airport, i am still so disapointed in their ability to re gain full function, they added buses from catnia airport to pulermo, with only 55 fucking seats!, an entire airplane holds like 3 times that!, they should have had a plan for an event like this, and now i'm basically stuck here also to add on, my mothers visa's vaccation timing is over so she is theorotacally elligal right now!, for all we know once we get our passports scanned she could be detained.
