This month, I decided to come to Ono City, a beautiful castle town of Fukui Prefecture that is also known as a “little Kyoto”. This time, my friend Mathilde, who works at the Ono City Hall, will be showing us around!
In this first part of our trip to Ono City, we start by taking a little walk around the fascinating Teramachi Avenue, lined with modern and traditional temples.
Then, we head over to a manufacturer of Buddhist household, established in the region for more than a century, to experience making ‘juzu’ beads bracelets used in Buddhist worship.
