      w/ my travelling style, i’ve been 4×7 days to Kyoto area alone and it still not enough to “finish” it 😅 so JR pass will never be suitable for me.

      Thanks for keeping everyone apprised with this super-useful info. If a JR consecutive-day pass is not the best option for someone, do you recommend a site to purchase regular tickets for specific-day train travel?

      I did run into one restriction while booking online using the JR pass. I went to book a trip from Tokyo to Nagasaki and the website wouldn’t let me book reserved seats for more than three trains in one trip. The trip to Nagasaki is four trains. I went to Tokyo station and booked in person and it was fine. One thing I’m worried about is the connection between trains at Tokeo-onsen only gives me 3 minutes between one train arriving and the next one leaving. Apparently I only have to go from one side of the platform to the other. I’ll let you know how that goes later on May. (It’s end of April 2023 now).

      Are you a human or a robot? 🤔 I am asking because you hardly ever smile, you have a fixed gaze and a voice that's in a constant pitch all throughout. If at all you are a human, you are definitely Japanese because in my 35-year experience of living and working in Japan, the hardest thing in the Land of the Rising Sun is to distinguish between a human and a robot.

      Im going to stay in Japan longer and will travel across almost the entire country, it is possible to buy the JRpass twice to complete in total 42 days and to anable each one in different dates?

      How about places like Kawaga and Kochi? I'm planning on traveling there from Tokyo but I'm a little confuse how to go there via trains or buses. Great job on this video btw! 💯

      Hi Lisa, is it more advisable to activate JR pass at Haneda Intl terminal or activate it at other stations like Ikebukuro. I am concerned whether the queue is always long at Haneda airport exchange center , as I have to catch a pre booked train at Ikebukuro.

      This is so helpfull thank you we love walking up to 10km per day and we're spending a week in Tokyo and a week in Osaka where we'll visit Hiroshima so we're thinking JR Pass not required.

      Me and my wife are planning to visit Tokyo – Hokkaido – Sapporo – Tokyo this December…Is it possible to purchase JR Pass on the month of September 15, 2023 so we can still use the old price and activate the JR pass on December 7, 2023?

      Hi. I plan to travel to Japan on early November this year. Can I purchase the JR pass on September and activate only by November? Will I still need to pay the difference by the time I activate the pass?

      We were just in Japan for a three week period. We spent the first four and the last three in Tokyo, with the rest in other locations. We got the two week JR Pass and got good value out of it. But we waited until we were ready to leave Tokyo to activate it. For Tokyo, we got the 72 hour subway pass, good on the Tokyo Metro and Toei lines. While some trips took a little bit longer to complete as compared to the JR trains, there were no areas we couldn’t get to. As a bonus, we even made it to Tsukiji, which is not possible using only JR trains (without a pretty long walk). We were staying in the area near Daimon Station, adjacent to Hamamatsucho Station and the Tokyo Monorail. The cost was 1500 JPY (about $11 USD at the time) for the three days. We more than made up the cost of the pass. Now, it’s useless for traveling outside of Tokyo (say to Fuji, Kamakura, Nikko or Yokohama), but we wanted to explore a lot of areas we had not been to before within the city.

      We're travelling Tokyo – Fuji – Kyoto – Osaka – Hiroshima.
      Use the JR pass or just pay as we go?

      Dear Lisa, will be in Japan arriving late night in Haneda airport in mid Oct. Staying one night at terminal 3 and traveling to Fujikawaguchiko 4020 for 2 nights and the proceed to Kusatsu Gunman onsen. May I ask what is the best transport and which JR or bus I should take. Thanks
