  2. I decided to live in a cooler place in the Philippines because I like the outdoors and the heat can be so oppressive so much of the year. I bought a house recently in Tagaytay and plan to use it as my home base. Tons of great restaurants, shopping and things to do. In the top ten safest cities in the Philippines. Just 1.5 hrs. from Manila means you can get just about anything you want. It's proximity to Manila makes it easy to fly anywhere in or out of the Philippines.

  3. I always try to find places with few foreignors, which often means staying away from the cooler areas but OMG! this past May was 116F in Samal Isle and the power was out half the time so no A/C, lol. Was a rough one, haha

  4. Thanks for d Infos ,GIO.Would love to visit Bukidnon on my net visit.Been to Baguio,Osmena Peak,Tagatay but not BATANES .Heard BATANES s typhoon prone.Baguio a bit crowded.
    Nice video . Cheers πŸ‘πŸ‘

  5. If you want to live someplace without lots of people and very cold for the Philippines, then Maragusan in Davao De Oro. I haven't been but it's on my bucket list to visit as a vacation, not to live.

  6. We moved here 4 years ago and decided to find a place near to Tagaytay. We are near to Alfonso, west of Tagaytay. Temps here are mostly in the 70's and 80's, with cool winds and rains. I sometimes have to put on a light jacket and socks. We love it up here, our dogs do too. We are out in the country and are surrounded by jungles.

  7. I recently went to Baguio, the drive up there is really the best part for me. However, I could not find a taxi when i got there and had to walk 45 minutes to my airbnb. So just be aware that it is very crowded there.

  8. Looks like there's a lot of room to stay cool up in the mountains of Luzon if you don't need as much city. With a little skill & know-how you could probably, nearly completely, retreat from the world there.

  9. I have been to Baguio twice in august and it was around 60F and pretty much constant rain and we were basically in the clouds. It was a nice relief from the heat. We are going again at the end of this month so we expect more of the same. Very congested place but has a good bustling feel about it and very safe. Thinking about spending more time there in a few years during our retirement, as my wife was at Uni there and has family there.

  10. The coldest I’ve been there is Baguio. I’m from Australia and never bring a jumper (sweater) and I froze my arse off in Baguio. Plus the place is overcrowded, and I wasn’t there peak season.

  11. I was in baguio last year coz my girlfriend wanted to go there. We started with nice weather and palm trees at the sea side and drove a road with a lot of traffic with slow trucs up and up. It became cold and rainy. The whole City was totally crowded with cars and the palm trees changed to pine trees. One of the sightseeing Hotspots was a strawberry field. I felt like in Germany. No more baguio for us πŸ˜‚

  12. Spent a week in Baguio last month. Horrible traffic and the air is so polluted it made me nauseous. Camp John Hay is a nice escape. Felt like I saw all the sights in 4 days. No way I could live there.

  13. Don Salvador Benedicto is supposed to be pretty cold too
You didn't check that out on my trip next month..
I'm one of those people that want a cooler place to live.

  14. Top five coldest places in Philippines? LOL there are none. The weather is like Filipinas varying degrees of HOT.
Gio, without sounding like a crackpot Batanes may not be a good location live just now. It marks the south end of the strategic Luzon Strait. If China escalates the Taiwan attack the first move will be to block that Strait and very likely occupy the southern islands as bases.

  15. During the Amihan season (in Celsius) 1.Mt PULAG is 0 degrees 2. BAGUIO is 10 degrees 3.SAGADA is 9 degrees 4.ATOK is 6 degrees 5. TAGAYTAY is 17 degrees. These are top 5 coldest places in the Philippines

  16. Me and my wife just arrived in Baguio Last Friday. ( Bring a Umbrella, bring a Umbrella ). We got married 28 years ago in Baguio.. When there was only around 55,000 People. Now there are over 365,000. It is hard to find a nice House, Condo, Appt. to rent. We did miss out on 2, Nice ones. And the other 4 where not very nice, and very dirty. A-lot of bait a switch, photo shopping in adds. Traffic is bad, but taxis. Are every where. And at a much lower cost than Manila. Drivers are better, and will wait at cross walks. For people too cross. Now a very nice Surprise. Is am a Disabled Vet and use a cane. The 1st time Leaving very busy SM Mall. There was around 100 plus people waiting for cabs. We got in line. About a min later a Security came up. And brought us too a line. With only 4 people in it. With a sign saying line. For retired older adults, and the Disabled. The same for going some stores check outs. And exchanging money at SM food store. The same thing happened at MNL Airport We went to the special line showed our Passports. And got a 1 year Visa stamped. Then went, and got our bags. And straight out to the cabs. The food has been very good. And the locals very nice, and friendly. I am going for a SRRV military Visa. So i went to the local PSA office. A very nice guy helped us. In 3 days we already have our medical done. The Application form done. The NBI Paper work paid for done. And sent to Manila. We got extra 12- 2×2" photos for 3 US dollars.

  17. Coolest/coldest Philippines = Oxymoron. I have ridden my motorcycle in short sleeves at 17.6. I fish spring and fall tournaments every year in short sleeves at that temperature. It really has to get below 60 for me to get cool. Still I appreciate the video because its nice to know there are some places there where it is not one hundred and hell

  18. My preference is "comfortable' ! — I'm 73 & I don't do heat or cold well. = Tagaytay '''sounds''' about perfect for my body 'most' of the time ? > I hear it's quite affordable even if your a bit on the frugal side in some areas – perhaps w/o the panoramic views ? — From the few video's I've seen everything you need is pretty much there. Supposedly it does get quite crowded on the weekends with people from Manilla mostly. My suspicion is many Filipino's think it is too cold being used to much warmer.

  19. Hi Gio.
Great πŸ‘ video and thanks for your list of the 5 cooler places to live in the Philippines.
That list gives me some choices.
Keep up the great work and you and Maya have a safe trip to and from Vietnam and Enjoy !!

  20. Bagio is vulnerable to Volcanic eruptions.
    Mindanao is vulnerable to Terrorism.
I'm thinking Valencia for me except poor infrastructure so….
Probably end up in or near Ormoc. It's the safest city in the Philippines, relatively cheap and with good hospitals and shopping plus it's a port with ferry access to Cebu.

  21. Last year September I was going to my Pina place on Dinagat and she put my in a long sleeve shirt saying you'll get cold, and I was sweating πŸ˜‚, and I looked at her and said "you'll get cold she says" πŸ˜‚. But we laughed it off πŸ˜‚
