Indonesia has some of the most beautiful island beaches in the world. Watch and enjoy as we explore Indonesian culture and subscribe (http://bit.ly/2Jn4gbe) to discover more about some of the best travel destinations on the planet!

Indonesia is made up of 17,000 islands and 17,000 beautiful beaches. Which is one of the reasons the country is bustling with tourism. As a matter of fact tourism is the main staple of their economy. A perfect time to visit would be during the Balinese New Year. They have a gigantic parade on the eve of the new year where everyone is celebrating. But remember, new years day is a day of silence. The cities become a ghost town as the people observe this religious day of meditation.

We stayed at an Airbnb, which we feel is the best option for exploring. The Airbnb host was our tour guide, picked us up from the Bali airport and drove us to our destinations. We recommend planing ahead in regards to accommodations. This way the Airbnb host can help organize transit and anything else you may need.

You will need to fly to each island or take a ferry. The price of the flights vary, but it could be up to $200. And if you’re thinking about taking some drone footage on any of the islands, they charge around $100. Though local Indonesian food and markets may be cheap, the more activities you do the more expensive it gets. For example snorkeling off the cost of Komodo Island costs a couple hundred bucks. And as you can see from the video, there is so much to discover underneath the ocean surface.

Another place to explore are the hidden temples of Yogyakarta. It costs about $25 for entry, but it’s well worth it. Circling the temple is a never ending horizon of lush green vegetation and a shimmering ocean off in the distance. Great for photos and learning about the authentic history of the islands.

The things you should avoid: drugs (the penalties are severe), drinking tap water (water is untreated), going out alone late at night (self explanatory), using sketchy currency exchange tents (with sleight of hand they can steal your cash, use the airport) and giving money to beggars (its actually against the law).

Lastly, keep in mind that you can’t always be prepared for everything. There’s a huge population of people and so much going on. If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation getaway with everything you need conveniently at your fingertips we recommend staying at a resort. A few resorts we recommend are the Maya Villas on the island of Bali, the Seraya Resort near the Komodo National Park, and Karma Reef on the Gili Islands. The Komodo National Park is where you’ll find the infamous Komodo Dragons. Awesome creatures, but incredibly poisonous so make sure to stay close to the tour guide.
