=ABOUT ME=

Ever wondered why your city’s transit just doesn’t seem quite up to snuff? RMTransit is here to answer that, and help you open your eyes to all of the different public transportation systems around the world!

Reece (the RM in RMTransit) is an urbanist and public transport critic residing in Toronto, Canada, with the goal of helping the world become more connected through metros, trams, buses, high-speed trains, and all other transport modes.

  1. 8:21 love how the VMS sign says (in english) 'Welcome – to REM users on [the] Samuel de Champlain Bridge' and one time where English is used on road signs in Quebec. I assume the train travels at 80 km/h as thats the speed limit on the bridge for road traffic. For mainline rail however, mph is used.

  2. I find it can it be speed up more? Like 100km or 120 km especailly a lot of the lines two extremities are very far away and for now the downtown core stastion density can support that speed as well at least for the next 5 years even 10.

  3. Great video. It looks like an awesome metro line. I assume all the stations are accessible. If that would be great as Montreal was lacking accessible metro stations at one time.

  4. I get out work early on Fridays. So I bought an AB ticket to take a spin on the REM. I was at the open house, but couldn't get the premium spot in front. I did yesterday! Saw exactly what Reece did here.

  5. Thanks man. That's what I was going to do for real. Not any more. One thing that strike me is how ugly it is going to and in the south shore is. Highways, constructions sites, empty terrains, parking lots, train tracks, sparse vegetation, etc… I will pass on this leg of the network. Hopefully there is better views going to the west island part.

  6. Honestly, some of the best rail I've seen, and it's on a North American city, which aren't known for their good transit systems. Kudos!
