Chinese New Year celebration in Phnom Penh city is a tradition that everyone seems participate even if they’re 100% Khmer. My family always celebrate the Chinese New Year, having some offering and cheers with family and friends like a public holiday but there’s no Chinese New Year Holiday on Cambodia Holiday Calendar. Most offices and School closed for 3 – 5 days and people are giving away Ang Pao (red pocket with money inside) to their children and staffs. I went out to Orussey Market, Samaki Market to check out what’s going on in the early morning of Friday 24th the day of the offering. There’re thousands of posted pigs and ducks are selling and many people coming to buy. The price for 1 roasted pig is around US$400 and all sold out. We also had a party at work to enjoy roasted pork and ducks. Happy Chinese New Year! Kong Xi Fa Chhai!

I’m using GoPro Hero 5 Camera.
