  1. So bumbed about the Rail Pass increase. I was always traveling all across Japan by rail dueing my trips. I can understand that the current price might not be sustainable with how much it costs to operate JR lines, but the increase is to a degree where it very well might not make sense anymore to buy the pass. It's also not very eco-friendly as flying might be the much cheaper option with the new price.

  2. Evening Amy how are you? Loved watching your new Japan news here of the wonderful things happening there in Japan which is very helpful! Love that Japan is getting those new trains which so beautiful which I would love to check out when I visit Japan next year! Cheers for sharing this information Amy! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

  4. Canโ€™t believe in two months from today I will be getting ready to fly out to Japan. Thank you for your videos they have been so helpful and love my guide book. Super excited for my first ever trip to Japan

  5. Thank you for all of the updated info you shared about Japan! Iโ€™m really amazed at how much you know about all of the changes and what businesses and buildings used to be where. Bought your Japan book and loved it – you put a lot of effort into your work and it shows. Great job, and God bless!

  6. god,, I'm being dragged back to Japan this month,… my female relatives insist we're going to stay in Kyoto (again) … it's going to be so hot, humid and miserable …. btw, you don't need to take the train, buses are actually really pretty good …

  7. With the price increase on all the JR passes I think I will look into trying to take the Spacia X if I go to Nikko again. I completely fell in love with yuba when I went ๐Ÿคค and that's partially behind wanting to go a second time but a cool train could add something special

  8. Hey Amy,

I have booked my flight to Japan in May 2024 and plan to be in Tokyo most of the time.

I am 28 and will be traveling alone. What area do you recommend for me to stay? My top 3 are Shunjuku, Shibuya and Ueno.

Since I'm alone I'm leaning towards Shibuyua or Shinjuku, I could probably go out more in the evening and meet new people.

Otherwise, I will also make many day trips and certainly spend a few days in Osaka and Kyoto.

What would you recommend for my first trip to Japan?

    Best Nico

  9. Hi Amy! Could you let us know how to use SUICA now as we were hoping to get one alongside our JR pass to make travel as seamless as possible. We've heard that they've suspended the SUICA service? Any help you can provide will be super gratefully received! Thanks, Thomas

  10. Hi! Question from someone with fashion color hairโ€ฆ do you get residual dye on the towels in hotels in Japan? Is that a problem? I use dark towels at home. Hotels in America have never charged me for it, but white hotel towels always end up with red streaks because of my hair.

  11. Hello Miss,. When taking Shinkansen , do the seats are turned to travel always forward and not get sick? Please for me is very important to know ,. God bless you
