In this episode, we travel in our Motorhome a Rolerteam Zefiro 696 from the banks of Loch Ness to Inverness to join the start of the magnificent NC500 in Scotland. We travel to the deserted Dornoch Beach for a cuppa tea and then head up to the infamous John O Groats and the most northerly point Duncansby before heading to Dunnet Head beach where we make a chilling discovery.

So few people understand the intricate kilt spinning process , so cheers for that . When is the last time you even saw a Wool bush or Wool tree ? ..exactly.. a lost art . Fascinating how they used to harvest the wool bushes , the wool trees and fasten it all to the farm animals in order to fluff it out , air it out , generally on sheep . They sure don't make things like they used to anymore .
Also any chance of creating a clean sound sample of that RV rattling and producing a travel soundtrack ? It was majestic and so relaxing ; I felt as if I was there myself , gradually getting angrier and angrier . Fantastic .
Did u know that Madonna and Guy Ritchie were married in the cathedral in Dornoch, aw aw even more weirdly Elon Musk also married there, I mean whatโs that all about ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
Right about the the Kilt maker only they used to put the whole sheep in it and when they turned the handle it separated the wool from the sheep and shepherds pie came out the one side and wool from the other ๐๐
That was stunning and Chris with his wool jokes took the biscuit โค ps did you get my photos
We did Dunnet Bay in April 2018 as part of our 1st, 4m jaunt, in our then new motorhome and experienced sun, rain, sleet and snow in one day. Thanks for jogging the memories. X
Durness is best! White sand beach and blue/green sea. Nothing beats Scotland. Now …. Full time or not? Bin bag for a loo …. luxury!
The drone has made a massive difference to this. Editing unreal as usual.
Hey you 2-excellent 1st tour offering, thanks it was great. The point of reflection is a superb one. I'm a firm believer of 'there is always time to stop & smell the flowers' in fact to anyone it should be a personal law. The sand, ocean, open land & wildlife are all good for the soul, it's a mind cleanser. Re the growing of wool I did try it once on East Yorkshire s coast. The conditions differed way too much from Scotland I'm afraid. I did manage to knit fog(sea fret) it was too similar to the Kings clothes I'm afraid๐. Thanks for the journey it was a blast.
We are new to Motorhoming too and waving is definitely a thing, (not to vans though ๐)
Discovering whatโs on the other side means being willing to try new things and explore unfamiliar territory. Itโs about embracing change and being open to new experiences. Even if they may be uncomfortable or challenging at first. You never know what growth or transformation may come from taking that first step into the next unknown. Take a deep breath, dive right in, we are only here once. the challenge is not making the change, the challenge is making the most of what time we have. We have moved back half way around the world to seek new adventures. Donโt expect everyday to be an instagram moment, but expect to live everyday like itโs to be your last. Become human, be happy and love the life you have the privilege of living. Life can be simple.
You two always make me laugh ๐
Oh Gawwwd – the cutlery/pans/crockery accompaniment ๐. We feel your pain! Our cupboards are stuffed to the gils with bubble wrap ๐. (Recent subs – love your vlogs ๐ค)

Hi, my wife also watches these videos and i found the photo of Andy on the john O' groats sign highly inappropriate, pure filth i tell you ๐ on the other hand Iโve still not quite stopped laughing at the update ๐๐๐
As to the rattles, there not all that bad but you might find wrapping things in tea towels in the oven will make a difference. Love your videos, keep them coming x
Darren swam in the sea at Dornoch last October it was blinking freezing. And Dunnet head beach was that bad with birds that there was locals bagging them everytime the sea went out๐ขx
Good video guys thanks ๐
Andy needs all the kelp he needs ๐๐
cracking vlog guys….Keep them coming….
Lovely video as always, Dornoc beach looked stunning and very quiet, talking of quiet you need tea towels and bubble wrap to stop the Motorhome rattles. Superb filming and editing, the drone is a great addition to your filming. Sorry Andy missed out on fish and chips,he didnโt look impressed with your cheese and pickle sandwiches ๐ฉ. Kilt spinner my โโ , i much prefer Claireโs historical facts . Stick to the dad jokes Andy Thanks for sharing your journey and humour, take care ๐๐
