When I was an E-1 I was working in the motor pool and was talking to an E-8 who was getting ready to retire. He bought a trailer and a plot of land outside Ft. Stewart GA when he enlisted. Every time he paid one off he bought a new one and moved it to the land. As he was getting ready to retire, he had 12 trailers rented out to GI’s from Ft.Stewart with guaranteed rent because he could garnish their wages through the Army if they failed to pay.

Hawaii – Robert kiyosaki – rich dad poor dad. Working class to investor. Keep a property for 7 years. More than 10 years old, repair cost is high. I used his method. But I kept my property for more than 20 years before selling.
Hawaii is mainly Japanese not Chinese right?
I sold of one of my properties late last year – in fixed deposit now. Problem of properties, maintenance and repair is high.
I did not go into stocks as I tried some during Asian financial crisis 1997. Got burned.
I thought you were broke and started at my age, but now that I know you started in your 20's, I'm a bit depressed. 😐 But grateful for the advice.
