Just 50 minutes from Nimes, Le-Grau-du-Roi sits on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Palm trees, fishing boats, a lovely beach, overpriced beer and the fascinating Seaquarium. An amazing, memorable day.

  1. Your visit to the aquarium reminds me of one I visited in Boulogne years ago. Saw the fish, became hungry and then visited the excellent seafood restaurant in the aquarium. Typical French pragmatism. I also agree with the restaurateurs and bar owners who prefer to use cash rather than credit cards, why should their labours help to swell the income of the credit card companies?

  2. The ‘pollution of the sea’ display in the aquarium was really good . Thank you for sharing these ‘original’ visits ! I may visit one day, who knows. 🇫🇷

  3. Hi Scott. Really enjoying your travels in France. I have lived in the Auvergne region of France for over 40 years. Have you ever thought of visiting? We have volcanoes and wonderful walking. The highest being the Puy de Dôme which the Tour de France climbed this year. The capital is Clermont-Ferrand which is the home of Michelin tyres as well as ASM rugby who play in the Top 14. Enjoy your stay. Stewart

  4. Really cool to see somewhere I've never heard of before! A nice 'cooling' day trip, but not sure I'd spend a week there (not sure I could AFFORD to!) 😀 Great video as always Scott

  5. Love your videos Scott watch every one, but sorry to have to tell you that Roy was never in le Grau, it was the King that was there (pronounced R-wa) never mind I am sure he did not mind!

  6. That fish seriously upstaged you. 🙂 Enjoyed the journey. Glad it wasn't such a marathon of endurance in heat, dust, humidity as the previous one…and glad that you didn't end up with heat stroke. As much as we're enjoying each excursion in France, as travel nerds, we're still hoping you'll did that grocery shop walkabout.

  7. Thanks for taking us along ….

  8. Please try heading Montpellier town center by train. And visit Place de la Comédie, the Promenade du Peyrou, Fabre Museum both into the old town. And take a tram to get through Antigone area designed by architect Riccardo Bofill (Place de l’Europe) 🇫🇷

  9. Notice your head was sweating badly under the hat Scott, probably because you need to get a shaved high and tight flattop, would look good on you and take years off your look. 😊

  10. Standing at the bar that beer would have been €4.50. Sitting down inside: €7.00. Sitting outside is €9.00. Bienvenue a France…
