This week, we take our campervan across the border into Portugal! We discover this brand new country to us, learning its cultures and language, finding out how possible vanlife is here, whilst also being plagued by mosquitos and other unknown bugs as we find ourselves constantly bitten and driven crazy and looking for any solution possible. On the plus side, we discover the romantic, picturesque town of Tavira which offers something different on the Algarve, and take a trip to some hidden island gems that showcase a whole other side to this region, away from the tourist hotspots. Come and join us on our journey as we take our adventures into Portugal!
Tavira is a town full of history and classic Portuguese buildings and is a wonderful place to casually get lost in, peacefully exploring the streets. After this, we headed to Olhão, and although we didn’t see the town itself, we took a ferry to the island of Culatra, and the little place called Farol. This was something entirely different to what you’d normally see on the Algarve, an isolated community with unique little homes and shingle gardens, but of course we managed to find a bar and stopped for a beer! Best of all, the ferry from Olhão is only just over 4 euros for a round trip, so it can make for a really cheap day out if you’re in the area, and the boat ride is really nice too.

Nice vlog guys those bites looks bad they are Brexit Midges 😂 you can't see them but only British visitors get them. 😊
Hi guys, nearest farmacia get some tea tree oil, put it into sun spray also shower cream. And a water spray bottle for the bed covers, you need mosi nets for sure.oh and antihistamines.
Enjoy your trip 💕💕
I felt for you with those bites, they always chomp on me too.. I can’t take antihistamines but can use the cream and always travel with a couple of tubes of Anthisan .. it’s got something in that stops the itching too.. I even get bitten here in Northumberland.. fab video again.. Sue
Boys .Any chance what's biting you could be bed bugs ????
Dungeness?😂That's so funny but also really interesting. I didn't know about that island. Bites might have been sand flies. We've had trouble with those. Enjoyable vlog once again. Thankyou
Believe me mosquitoes are like ninjas. I swear they know when you fall asleep. Incense sticks are a great cheap option, they hate the smell and the smoke (apparently, not sure who worked that out) but it does work, much love Darren & Alison 🤟♥️
what I do is grab a bottle of vodka well any spirit will do but the vodka helps your muscles as well….splash it on my hands and massage it on my leggs…keeps the miggies away….you end up stinking like an alcoholic but who cares,,,,,,,all that said still love Steven better LOOL…he looks cool…..love you guys have fun!!!!!
OMG!! Those stealth bugs. Hope you’ve recovered now. 🤗🚌❤️
The pavement is called calsada
They are Sand flies just like midges. They’re tiny and very hard to spot. You must be allergic to them. If you are, you’ll need to get antibiotics if it gets any worse. I’ve had them in Australia.
Loved the place but not the bugs lol 😄 great vid guys xx
