This is what I call my ultimate midlife crisis. We all suffer a midlife crisis at some point in our life – but this one caused us to end up in a remote Japanese mountain village. Insane, maybe but we haven’t looked back since !!

  1. Thank you so much for sharing wonderful Japan. I miss it so much – a special country, kind people and incredible history. Belated お誕生日おめでとう Chris. 🎂

  2. I'm absolutely loving following your travels. It's really giving me the travel bug. I never thought of it as a midlife crisis, but I'm doing things things for myself that I never would of in the past. I think the most "mad" thing I've been doing is traveling thousands of miles to go to concerts of musical artists that will never come close to performing near my small Texas town.

  3. Whether it is a mildlife crisis ,l had to settle up at 40s in a new country by leaving all the things l have. l had to do it because there was nothing that l could do. In addition to all the things ,its been very challing learning second language , adaptation to a new country, making new friends, trying to take a part there and much more.l have been happier than l used to and getting used to all those things now .If l gave advice those who are same as me ,it would be "never give up " keep going ,smiling and always dreaming where you wanna see yourself in your life

  4. By now, you are probably noticing that it's getting warmer and more humid daily.
You will be constantly sweating buckets and losing salt from your body, and maybe getting heat stroke 🙁
Please eat some salt candy, ume boshi and miso soup (you can get them at 7-11, etc.) daily.
Also, I think the southern route will be better/ easier.
In China, they might think that you look suspicious or maybe spies, and get arrested.
Please take extra care of yourselves.
btw, I really love watching your travels. You are a wonderful young couple 🙂

  5. I don't think mid life crisis is a thing really, I just think if you're quite a busy sort of person and retire from a job or career in your mid to late 50's as my hubby did you need a way to occupy yourself, so people with active minds like to challenge themselves that's all. It's usually a good thing in my opinion. I've struggled to retire 100% as I'm 6 years younger than hubby. We plan to explore a lot more in Turkey and in UK now.

  6. Hi Chris & Marianne, great video as usual, I know it hard work editing exploring videos especially when you on the move, I too bought a motorbike and camper van (self built) for my mid life crisis, I think when you’ve had your family and they’ve grown up and left home we all have to fill that void as you’ve been in that raising family zone for so long, but blessing to you and your family and just a thought before you reach your deathbed pls also think about you salvation and where you go after you had a great life 🙏🏻 keep those great adventures coming, God bless.

  8. I can introduce you to a Zen Master just outside Tokyo in Irumashi, if you are interested. You can see him on my channel.

I am presently in Bali, but will be back next week.

  10. Hello Ambassadors
I loved the setting of the Yakahama and the village you walked around. It was so beautiful. What a life they must have had back then.
Thank you for bringing these beauties to us.
    We love you❤❤
    Be safe!🇹🇷🇹🇷🙏

  11. Loved this video. You both where so much more relaxed than the last one (narrow road) and went to some interesting spots. The food looked great! Maybe put a warning next time so that the viewer can wear a bib so they don't drool on themselves watching you eat. The village was really interesting and very inexpensive to enter. It looked like you were the only ones there!
