Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFv4iF8wgg&t=1s

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted 😉

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to 😉 Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer 🙂

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

  1. Imagine making a survival YouTube video and then someone actually ends up on the island needing to survive and they can't because everything's already used

  2. Moving forward if you guys do any more of these island survival challenges I highly recommend watching the youtube channel Field Days. He's an Australian outdoor enthusiast and during the pandemic he was stuck in (I think) Malaysia and to help pass the time he started making survival challenge vids on tropical islands much like the ones y'all tend to find yourselves on. So if you watch them go alllll the way back (only like 3 years ago) and look for his survival challenge vids and he has a ton of go info and survival tips specifically for Islands in the tropics 😃🤙✌️👍

  3. Can I just say another reason these two make such a great couple is it seems like both families like the other spouse and makes sure to treat them like family and vice versa

  4. 6:51 I'm not 7 mins in and I'm wondering how your bowels will like 4 days of coconut water 😅😅 it can turn into more dehydration if you get the runs from it. 🙃

  5. YouTube please Insert a ❤ button before Like as I wanna give a 1000❤ to Kara & Nate for this painstakingly and passionately made Superb Video. Omg incredible! Hugs to you K&N

  6. You guys have NO IDEA how long my husband and I have been waiting for this video!! Our beautiful motherland and my father’s home island, Ha’apai at that 🥹💙 thank you guys for helping put Tonga on the map for other travelers!🇹🇴❤

  7. You've learned a lot from those survival experts; we'll done!
We're looking forward to you supporting Aimee and Craig's Put Foot Rally with your donation!

  8. When this "episode" ended I got the same feeling I had when I used to watch Survivor on Thursday nights and had to wait a week to see the next one. GREAT VIDEO as always. #subscriber since 2019.
