Fierce ocean currents squeeze around Lombok, regularly running at 3 knots and even making it to 10 knots on occasion. Sailing here is impossible if you’re trying to get through at the wrong time…

Another great video. Again with the great graphics and both of your terrific voice-overs! Such a beautiful part of the world! So if you had to pick, given no immigration issues, between Indonesia or Malaysia, which would you pick?
My Sunday breakfast, i.e. you guys are my morning treat! But Jamie! Where's the picture of you two on the summit you sent to that fellow?? 😄 A great, minor key video!
Awesome episode! 🤩
And amazing photos..
Beautiful video as always. I love those global current simulations. I think I’ve watched the one from NASA a hundred times. Mesmerizing.
A master class. Thank you so much!
Sail half way around the world to find Devon.
Having to wait 9 months in a tropical paradise, plenty of good food, plenty of bourbon, a beautiful woman on my arm……
I can think of worse fates 😜🐻
If the current pushes you to Bali stop in Tulamben znd say "hi," because that's where I am right now 😊
I’m shocked you don’t have more subs. I enjoy both your takes on your shared experience. Jaime and Liz are looking svelte👍⚓️
I see Liz tossed the line in; did you catch any thing? Looks like some good sailing. Do you miss England or just somethings of it?
Great video you guys! I've been fascinated by the ITF for ages. Indonesia's waters are so fertile because of the vast amount of nutrients that flow through from the W and SW Pacific. I experienced some of the strongest north-to-south current and standing waves in my 55+ yrs of sailing, while approaching Soro Lia (Komodo's beautiful circular bay) from the south in 2018…in pitch black dark too. Almost couldn't make way at one point with our 110hp Yanmar at full grunt! That was quite a night, I must say. Cheers, from SY Miss Foxy (currently in Koh Samui, heading to Koh Tao and then back to Malaysia and the Anambas soon).
16:51 So sorry to hear the Internet is bad there, there's corruption case in base transceiver station (BTS) project that should be planted all over Indonesia, they embezzled 521 billion USD from the 652 billion USD project fund. It should be at least decent signal if there's no corruption.
Fantastic graphics! I thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot. Going separate ways at one's own pace doing your thing is highly recommended. Thanks for sharing ❤.
I think that Indonesia/Philippines/Malaysia/Papua New Guinea should and could be the greatest cruising area in the world, just a shame that there are security issues with some destinations.
Far more interesting to me than the Med or Caribbean. Loved the anchorage you stopped at here, stunning and peaceful.
I bet you guys sometimes have to pinch yourselves when you think about what you've done over all these years. truly an amazing life. i'm sitting here in winchester, thinking…if only
the Wallace line Current is amazingly Strong .
