I’m starting my adventure above the Arctic Circle in Kiruna, and I’ll make my way down to the bottom of Sweden where my host family lives.       I hope to bike-pack in Scandinavia. If peak midge/mosquito season is (say) mid-June to mid-July. Is it worth considering bike-packing in the 6 weeks before and after this period and perhaps finding something else to do during the peak 4 weeks, even if it means leaving and returning though I'd dislike breaking my journey in such a way.

      Thanks for the video and I'll check out Bike Touring Mike. Based on my limited experience the bike touring I am drawn to is solo bike-packing in remote areas heading towards the remotest area (i.e. generally heading North). Have you yourself considered cycling from Lands End to Cape Wrath and beyond to the northern and western islands of the UK? I think you would enjoy the variety very much.

      If the knee pain is at the back of the knee, I’ve found it’s usually because your cleat is too far forward. I’ve had that before and moved the cleat backwards mid ride – pain went away instantly.

      Awesome video, awesome tour! The right to public access is the BEST Scandinavian invention and is by nature what should be normal and legal all over the world! We are all sharing the same planet, aren't we?

      Why don't you ware long pants to keep the bugs off your legs?
      I noticed while you were riding your shoulders and arms were moving while you were peddling.
      Is that because you were using clips or is that just the way you have gotten use to riding?

      We have deer flies where I live in Canada which are similar and we use a big piece of 2-sided tape on the backs of our helmets (and sometimes gloves) to capture those pesky savages! They are the jet fighters of the insect world and masters of the draft! 😁

      Another really nice video, Ryan. I enjoy your content. I'm sorry to hear about that knee pain though – ouch. Have you heard of MagLOCK pedals? It's a platform pedal with magnets inside and you mount a metal plate on a cycling shoe in place of the cleat. This might be a good option for those long rides. I really like mine.

      Hello, love ur vid. I just happened to see that you has gone through PRK. I'm considering whether I should have PRK or not. So I want to ask whether your daily life is affected by the surgery after all this time.
