Both South Korea and Taiwan were colonies of japan, i doubt that you can survive in either country (Taiwan is a country but its still part of China) without speaking korean or chinese. Both HK and Singapore has english as their official language. so it has nothing to do with being a former colony or not.

Around 80% of phd candidates in the US are foreign-born international students. The US is a like a 🧲 sucking up all the brains of the world because we have the best universities and colleges. This platform (youtube) was created by foreign-born international students.

Every country with elite post-secondary institutions want to attract more international students. Tuition is typically 4-5x the cost compared to domestic tuition, it's a giant revenue source. SK has SKY, but I don't think most foreigners would be willing to pay the premium compared to more globally-renowned schools like the Ivies or the Oxbridges of the world.

If only I could go to SKY Universities (Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University) I'd be happy

Contrary to what y’all think, most Korean dudes don’t want to be with white women. They much prefer other Asian women from countries like Japan or Vietnam.

Why can’t East Asian nations stay yellow? Keep Sub Sahara African nations black (deport those whites from South Africa), keep Europe white. These nations and continents ethically homogeneous the rest of the world isn’t Australia, Canada, and the USA.

Several commenters have made negative references to the American model of immigration. They have implied those non STEM people entering through the “ porous” southern border illegally will ultimately become part of the welfare state. These commenters show their belief in a hierarchy of desirability as applied to people of other countries and ethnicities. The commenters do not recognize their own snob classism/stone cold racism and also fail miserably at understanding the true power of American immigration and diversity. In fact many racist Americans also fail miserably at recognizing the historical power of American immigration and ethnic/cultural diversity.

Here’s the weakness to the currently discussed STEM targeted approach. It assumes there is a sufficient number of eligible non-Korean students who qualify for STEM programs at any university but who will pass up opportunities to enter top flight U.S. and European universities to go to lower ranked Korean universities. That ain’t gonna happen. It assumes the target students will be available for a cold approach recruitment at the point where they & their families are selecting colleges/ universities. Meanwhile the Korean STEM competitors will have been cultivating these recruits from k-6 forward just like the major athletic programs do. It also assumes certain racial/ethnic groups have lesser value than others both inside & outside of STEM. Thus Korean STEM ambassadors will not even look their way if the STEM performer is from an “ undesirable” ethnic/racial group. So Korean STEM ambassadors will find themselves constantly “ out of position” in the STEM recruitment competitions.

Now, back to that American “porous southern border” thing. There’s an implication here that undesirable or less desirable people are using this route to enter the country only to further burden its welfare/ social services network. First a cold unpleasant truth. How do you think most food gets put on the table around the world and who do you think builds your buildings or harvests your precious gems? Work like that gets done because oftentimes immigrants perform the laborious work others don’t want to do. Who said those performing such “dirty” work will be forever doomed to multigenerational stoop labor servitude? America’s greatest inventions came from the 2nd, 3rd & 4th generations of what were originally unwanted & scorned immigrants, slaves, and Pacific Islanders. Part of your peanut butter & jelly sandwich comes from the discoveries of these people. Your stoplights, refrigeration, cancer treatments, blood transfusion techniques, certain building blocks of modern day computing & birth control came from the descendants of these people. What if America had only waited for so-called merit based immigration to let in the people who would eventually make such contributions? So while America continues to replenish itself through the presence and participation of multicultural immigration some of our global neighbors will stick to their strictly insistence on “ ethnic purity” and march toward demographic extinction. When those who choose this path to extinction reach the end of that road just remember you didn’t want any of us non-Korean, non white-skinned, unintelligent non-contributors!

The better way to “hedge against this” is to learn to speak Korean extremely well. If you do this you will be 100% accepted by anyone native Korean you attempt to have a real relationship with ~ 그것만 하면 되지요 뭐 ㅋㅋ

As long as they're young women that's great. We don't want to be like Western Europe where they allow thousands of foreign men every year.
