SUBSCRIBE: – Let’s visit the beautiful country of Ukraine and let’s go to the Besarabsky Market (also referred to as the Besarabka or Bessarabia) which is an indoor market located in the center of Kiev on the Bessarabska Square at the southwest end of the city’s main thoroughfare, the Khreshchatyk. Constructed in 1910-1912 the market features 896 square metres (9,640 sq ft) of market space. Its name originates from Bessarabia, a region conquered by the Russian Empire during the Russo-Turkish Wars and now partially located in southwestern Ukraine on the territory of the Odessa Oblast (province).
Kiev or Kyiv is the capital and most populous city of Ukraine. It is in north-central Ukraine along the Dnieper River. Its population in July 2015 was 2,887,974, making Kiev the 6th-most populous city in Europe. Kiev is an important industrial, scientific, educational and cultural center of Eastern Europe.
Ukraine is a large country in Eastern Europe known for its Orthodox churches, Black Sea coastline and forested mountains. Its capital, Kiev, features the gold-domed St. Sophia’s Cathedral, with 11th-century mosaics and frescoes. Overlooking the Dnieper River is the Kiev Pechersk Lavra monastery complex, a Christian pilgrimage site housing Scythian tomb relics and catacombs containing mummified Orthodox monks.
