5 Things We Do In The Netherlands We Would Never Do In The States! When Tammy and I moved to the Netherlands from the US we knew we were in for some changes! From safety in the Netherlands to food/grocery delivery in the Netherlands and everything in between. So here is our list of 5 things (really 6) we do here in the Netherlands that living in Southern California we would never do.

  1. It is nice to listen to your experiences. You should stay here.
It learns me I tend to take some things for granted.

    Thanks for your video.

  2. When I lived in Colorado for a year I started missing the rain. I always really disliked rain when I had to bike somewhere. Sticky pants. But rain refreshes. Dust disappeared. The plants and grasses become green again. And the fresh smell outside. Love it.

  3. Yes; Pizzas being dwlivered uncut is the default here, so if you want it cut you have to request it. Makes sense, since everyone likes to portion it differently.

  4. Yes it is correct that pizza's dont arrive cut. That is because usually people want to decide for themselves how many pieces they need. Some people want to cut it while they eat and create custom bites. Or it is for sharing. For example, you may want to devide the pieces between each other, so each gets one third or one fourth of several pizzas, depending on the size of the family or group. It is also convenient if you have cooked a meal and need some pizza slices only as a side dish. To create your own size pizza slices, buy a pizza slicer at any supermarket or hema.

  5. Last night on th the Abdijplein I thought of you really liking the festivals here, but you probably don. The Zeeuws Nazomer Festival is on with lots of music and theater performances. The center is the Abdijplein in Middelburg, a fantastically beautifull location, but a lot is happening on other locations. Some performances are paid and some free. My favourite is Onderstroom, the streettheaterfestival, yearly held in Vlissingen in july.

  6. I had a spanish lady on a bike tour the other day. We had just left and it's starts raining, just a bit. We stop to put on raincoats. She actually has a good raincoat. But she says "we can't go like this". Hahahaha. I tell her: It's the Netherlands. You have a good raincoat. We go.

  7. Me being dutch with my husband from California. It is really great/funny to hear you talking about all those things.

We went to bottle rock and it was awesome.
