The key contemporary European buildings tend to be found in the larger countries of Western Europe, namely Germany, France, UK, Italy and Spain. But over the years certain countries have established – and then lost – great reputations for top quality architecture.
In 20th century European style, Art Nouveau, De Stijl, Art Deco, Modernism, Marxism, Marxism, Postmodernism, but This style approach to the design of buildings has been broken by the new powers, the Internet. The new freedoms and ways in our society mean that tight expressions and style groups are out but this will change again.
From cobblestone roads to Gaudí architecture, Europe offers some of the widest diversity of architecture in the world. It is often challenging to wrap your mind around just how these buildings have become; Many of the attractions we love today have surpassed the global war, the domestic crisis, and the imperial empire. Due to its rich architectural and cultural history, Europe is a land of wonder for designers and photographers.
The common feature of European architecture is that the most commonly used structural system is wall – beams or columns – bearing beams. Very large columns, small column distances. The works are placed directly on the ground so there is a spreading surface, the bottom is large and not high. Walls of brick or stone on the roof of the stone sheets. Folk homes use a wooden frame, palisades and roofs of clay and reed mud. Stunning arches and elaborate interiors are common features.
