That’s weird if the state is asking you not to come that the Marriott Vacation Club, Vistana, which ever name they’re using would not give you a waiver rather than restricted points and all of that because this is obviously a natural disaster outside of your control.
I am quite annoyed that just because I don't reside in USA I cannot get Marriott insurance. So I get stuck with a holding account if I have to cancel within 60 days due to what would be a qualifying event. I can't see that II has restrictions due to residency. I keep being told it's due to Canadian laws but I am suspicious of this excuse. You can't do much with points in a holding account other than book a MVC resort.
